Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis may be in no rush to get to that altar (they’ve been engaged for over three years now!), but when they do finally say their vows, at least we know what the actress’ wedding-day beauty look probably won’t include! Wilde just revealed what makeup look her fiancé isn’t a particular fan of — and it’s such a bridal beauty staple!
We’ll always love a bold, red lip to complement a white wedding dress. The bridal beauty look is classic, timeless, effortlessly chic — and, according to Olivia Wilde, totally hated by men!
The Vinyl actress recently divulged to People magazine that her hubby-to-be is put off by a vibrant lip look. “He doesn’t love it,” Wilde said of Sudeikis. In fact, she thinks most guys would pass when it comes to punchy puckers. “All men are terrified of lipstick,” she said. “But girls don’t get dressed up for guys — we get dressed up for girls. So I wear whatever I think looks best.” Sorry grooms! But give us lipstick or give us death! (Or a pre-nup…)
Okay, so we can kinda see where the grooms of the world are coming from. Who really wants a smeared mouth of red lipstick after going in for that first kiss? But need we remind you there are long-wear, non-transfer lipsticks out there, people?!
So what does this bride-to-be suggest instead? Well, her tired-and-true makeup look consists of a classic cat eye paired with a sheer lip. (The Revlon spokesmodel is a fan of the brand’s Super Lustrous Lipstick Sheers Collection in the Pink Truffle hue.) “I know [it] won’t need a ton of maintenance and has a hint of color so I’m not totally washed out,” explained Wilde. Okay, we gotta admit, that also sounds quite pretty. And not to mention… bridal! Can you and Sudeikis please get on those wedding plans already, Wilde?!
“I think that for a lot of women it’s not about disguising yourself,” the actress continued. “It’s just about giving yourself a little bump in confidence.” And nothing looks better on a bride than confidence!
