Scarlett Johansson lets all her features pop, Jourdan Dunn embraces a classically sultry look and Olivia Palermo makes a case for color. Take wedding day beauty inspiration from these three red carpet mavens!
Scarlett Johansson at the 2016 Renaissance Award ceremony: A bold eye doesn’t have to be the sole area of interest on a bridal beauty look—you can break the classic rule and accent multiple features, just like Scarlett Johansson. After giving yourself a flawless base with foundation and concealer, line your eyes, making sure you smudge the line below the lower lashes. Use a midnight blue shadow on the upper lids from the lashline to the crease, followed by a matte brown from the crease to the brow bone. Highlight the inner corners of the eyes and below the arch of your eyebrows, apply a half strip of faux lashes, and the eyes are done. Although a less-groomed brow is very much in style right now, opt for a precisely shaped brow like Scarlett’s to perfect the unique look. Then, use a bright pink blush on the apple of the cheeks and blended along the cheekbones and use a bright watermelon-hued lipgloss.
Jourdan Dunn at the Ralph&Russo and Chopard Host Dinner at Paris Fashion Week: No bride can go wrong with a classic smokey eye, radiant skin and nude lip like Jourdan Dunn. To recreate the look for yourself, start with a primer, to keep your skin from getting oily throughout the day. Then use a foundation with a radiant finish, and any concealer you may need to ensure you have a flawless complexion. Use a matte-finish bronzer on your cheekbones, so you have definition without shine, and highlight the center of your face. Make sure your brows are groomed and filled in, so they offer a bold frame to your eyes, and then create your smokey eye: tightlining with a black kohl liner, which you smudge around the outer corners, and using champagne and bronze-colored eyeshadows. Apply some feathery, individual faux lashes (or get lash extensions), and a glossy pink lip.
Olivia Palermo at Alexis Mabille show at Paris Fashion Week: Forget everything you think you know about needing a classic look at your wedding—if you want to get adventurous, do it, and let Olivia Palermo be your guide. To try your own version of this look, start with a light coverage foundation and a bronze-colored highlighter stick along your cheekbones (using a cream formula will help maintain the luminosity of the look). Tightline your eyes using a gray pencil, and smudge it down a bit below the lower lashes. Then use an aqua-colored eyeshadow from the upper lashes to slightly above the crease. Smudge some of that same shadow under the lower lashes and apply a couple coats of mascara. A quick swipe of nude lipstick and prepare to wow your guests and groom!
