These Are the Top 10 First Dance Songs in the World, According to Spotify

Some brides and grooms opt for a first dance song that is uniquely tailored to their love story. As adorable and thought-provoking as that may be, for some other couples, they just simply don’t have a go-to love song to call their own. While there’s no right or wrong first dance choice for your wedding, if you’re struggling to pick a tune that’ll blow all of your guests away we suggest taking a look at Spotify’s recently released Top 50 First Dance Songs.

And with lyrics like, “When my hair’s all but gone and my memory fades and the crowds don’t remember my name…when my hands don’t play the strings the same way, mm I know you will still love me the same” is that really that much of a surprise?! Before the most romantic song of our ~generation~ was released though, Etta James’ 1960’s hit At Last consistently topped the first dance charts.

Las Vegas Bachelorette Party Planning: Everything You Need to Know Now

With its reputation for revelry, Las Vegas has long been a favorite destination for bachelorette getaways. What’s not to love about a weekend out of town with some of your favorites in tow, with any number of leisure pursuits at your beck and call? From luxe retreats to around-the-clock eats, Las Vegas delivers any time of day or night — and it’s constantly upping the ante with new offerings. Thinking about having your bachelorette in this famously fabulous destination? Here’s what you need to know right now:

The Cosmo Is (Still) a Big Deal.

Landing on Las Vegas Weekly‘s “Best of Vegas” list yet again for 2016, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is not resting on its laurels as being one of the hottest properties on The Strip. Instead, the resort is adding to its cache, having recently opened a 10,000-square-foot outpost of the New York City speakeasy-style lounge and eatery, Beauty & Essex, as well as the first outpost of Los Angeles cult fave Eggslut, which will be open overnight on select nights to feed the late-night crowd. The Juice Standard, a local micro-chain for cold-pressed juices, offers an additional menu of “cold-pressed cocktails” exclusively at The Cosmo location; a Momofuku project is also slated to open later this year.

Vegas Has a Huge New Stage
In addition to the multitude of entertainment offerings up and down The Strip, the city this spring inaugurated the T-Mobile Arena, a state-of-the-art venue that will host both pro sports games and blockbuster concert tours, including Gwen Stefani, Drake, Kanye West, and the Rolling Stones. Cross-check the schedule before you set your bachelorette dates — a concert here could be a highlight of your weekend. The Park, a huge outdoor plaza dotted with art installations and open-air restaurants, now connects the arena with the New York-New York and Monte Carlo hotels; a 5,000-seat theatre venue is opening soon, too.

Get Your Culture On — No, Really.
The local art scene is having a moment. First Fridays in the 18B Arts District of Downtown Las Vegas are a mash-up of gallery openings, open studios, street vendors and dining and imbibing specials at other local establishments (definitely stop by the Velveteen Rabbit). Additionally, the Las Vegas Contemporary Arts Center this year moved into its new permanent home; for a bit of vintage Vegas, don’t miss the Neon Museum, which collects retired signs from casinos, hotels, motels, and wedding chapels. What could be more perfect for an Instagram bachelorette group photo opp?

These Bespoke Offerings Are Pretty Suite
From the Nobu Hotel inside Caesars Palace to the Delano, a South Beach offshoot located on the upper floors of Mandalay Bay, resorts are getting creative with bespoke offerings that often come with VIP amenities. In addition to having a private elevator entrance, guests of the ARIA Sky Suites have exclusive use of ARIA’s Sky Pool and its spa-like treats including chilled towels, frozen grapes, smoothies and more. Nearby, the Vdara Hotel & Spa, an all-suite, non-gaming property that connects to the ARIA and the Bellagio via walkways, is tucked far enough away from the bustle of The Strip to have a totally different vibe, yet is never too far from the action.

Think a penthouse suite is beyond any reasonable stretch of the imagination? The LINQ Hotel, a new Caesars offering geared towards Millennials that opened last year, features two penthouse suites for rates that start at $700 per night. The hotel also offers poolside cabana rooms that walk out onto the pool deck and include waitress service from the pool bar during daytime hours because, well, they can — it’s Vegas, baby.

Marilyn Monroe Looks as Glamorous as Ever in Newly-Released Wedding Video

Sixty years after her wedding day, never-before-seen footage of Marilyn Monroe and third husband Arthur Miller’s wedding has been found.

The rare videos, obtained by Vanity Fair shot by famous photographer and personal friend of Monroe’s, Milton H. Greene, are part of an exhibit at Morrison Hotel Gallery’s “Some Like it Hot” exhibit, which will also feature more footage and photographs of Monroe on set during some of her movie shoots as well as glimpses into her private life.

Greene’s videos of Monroe’s wedding reception are from 1956, and show the happy newlyweds holding cocktails, interacting with guests, laughing together, and even stealing a kiss. The reception was held after their second ceremony, a Jewish wedding at the home of Miller’s agent, Kay Brown. Their first ceremony was a civil ceremony that took place two days earlier in White Plains, New York.

Monroe’s iconic 1950’s wedding day style is easier to see than ever before, with great shots of her fussing with her chin-length veil and talking and laughing with guests in her curve-hugging mid-length sheath dress with empire waist and ruched bust. Though it is hard to see her hair and makeup under her veil, it looks as though she stuck with her infamous hair and makeup look that she can be seen wearing in many of her famous movies.

The video compilation (above) of Monroe’s wedding reception is combined with other rare footage for the upcoming exhibit show, including a musical performance from her 1956 movie Bus Stop and behind-the-scenes shots from some photoshoots.

Monroe and Miller met on the set of the movie As Young As You Feel, and were married for five years before they eventually divorced in 1961. It was her last marriage before her death in 1962. Her previous marriages were to her childhood acquaintance James Dougherty from 1942 to 1946 and famous New York Yankee Joe DiMaggio in 1954 (they divorced that same year).

The “Some Like it Hot” exhibit will be open from July 16-24 at the Morrison Hotel Gallery.

A Nautical Summer Wedding on the Shores of Lake Erie

Location, location, location: It’s not just an adage for real estate anymore! Rachael Novak and James Koenig first met when they became neighbors in the same duplex home in 2009 and quickly struck up a relationship. Five years later in May of 2014, James popped the question on the last night of vacation in Key West. “We were sitting on the beach with a backpack full of beer. It was pitch black outside and nobody was around,” Rachael remembers. “It began to drizzle and when the rain really picked up but he blew me off when I asked if we should go inside. Before I knew it, Jim was pulling a ring out of the backpack and I was raining tears.”

Drawing from the site of their proposal, the couple knew they wanted a waterside wedding, but this time traded Florida‘s tropical beaches for Lake Erie’s shore. Rachael and Jim chose the Clifton Club in Lakewood, Ohio, for their August 22, 2015, wedding and invited 90 guests to take in the beautiful view while celebrating in the very same neighborhood where the couple met and fell in love. “We felt right at home,” Rachael says. “We wanted our guests to feel the same.” With the lakeshore as their backdrop and a summery, nautical vibe as their inspiration, this pair planned a bash their guests won’t soon forget. And we won’t either, thanks to the stunning photos captured by Kayla Coleman Photography, all seen below.

Shore Society created the couple’s metallic gold invitation suite, which was complete with a fitting nautical vibe. The anchor design used at the top of Rachael and Jim’s invite was carried over into several other elements of their day, including the welcome sign.

Rachael decided to try on a wide range of different wedding dress styles when she first started shopping, so when she put on this A-line silhouette from Watters, the bride-to-be knew it was the one. “Every dress I tried after this one was incomparable,” says Rachael. “It was classic with a boho sensibility, and I loved the plunging neckline.” Another plus? The non-white hue, which was something she had been open to all along, thanks to a silky bronze slip and sheer illusion bodice. “It was light as air and super comfortable for a summer day!”

She kept her accessories simple, choosing to wear studded Valentino pumps, drop earrings, and a stack of rose gold bracelets.

Jim went summer-casual for his attire, selecting a chambray linen suit jacket that he paired with navy pants.

For a coordinated look, his groomsmen all wore navy suits with matching chambray ties. “We didn’t want them too dressed up and this look fit the vibe of our outdoor wedding,” the bride says.

While the groom’s boutonniere featured a peach garden roses and olive branch, his groomsmen and the couple’s father’s all wore a subtle mix of astilbe, berries, and greenery on their lapels.

“I wanted my bridesmaids to wear a mix of different fabrics, necklines, and textures to create depth while sticking to an overall palette of pale peach and neutrals,” Rachael says of dressing her attendants. “It was important to me to give each woman a choice, so I picked a variety of styles so they would all have options. It was a ton of work but I loved how they all looked together!”

Rachael carried a textural bouquet comprised of dahlias, garden roses, ranunculus, astilbe, olive branch, rosemary, and privet berries while her ‘maids toted smaller version of the same mix.

As guests gathered in the lawn for the couple’s ceremony, programs with the same anchor detailing offered insight into Rachael and Jim’s nuptials.

In the spirit of pre-wedding DIY projects, the bride and groom worked together to build their ceremony arch. “It was made of birch branches and tied with rope, adorned with dahlias, roses, and pink passion vine,” Rachael says. There, the two exchanged heartfelt but humorous vows they wrote themselves. “I loved when Jim said that we would ‘travel through life, hand in hand, just like otters do.’ I appreciated the laugh to break up the nerves and tears!”

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds snuck off for a little alone time and to pose for a few sunset portraits on the beach.

During cocktail hour, guests sipped on the couple’s signature cocktail, a blueberry Moscow mule. Instead of escort cards, the couple used calligraphed mussel shell to designate everyone’s reception seats.

Centerpieces and reception décor was inspired by the couple’s coastal aesthetic, with the main table arrangements made from a mix of different bud vases with dahlias and roses, ornamental driftwood, and copper lanterns.

Instead of a traditional guestbook, friends and family left messages in a bottle for the bride and groom to read after the wedding.

Rachael and James chose a four-tiered vanilla and salted caramel wedding cake that was decorated with textured buttercream and rose gold accents. “I made our flag cake topper myself,” the bride says.

As favors, the bride and groom brought in a selection of sweets from their favorite local bakeries and candy shops. “I love to bake and have a major sweet tooth, so I wanted a dessert table with take-home boxes for our guests to take home,” Rachael says. “We had macarons, mini cupcakes, pecan tarts, cake pops, and sugar cookies with the same anchor design on our invitations.”

The night closed out with a joyous sparkler exit — the perfect way to send the newlyweds off for 10 days in sunny Turks and Caicos. “Stay true to yourself and your vision,” Rachael advises future couples. “Your wedding day is about your love and future as a couple, not about fitting a mold.”

Do I Have to Call My In-Laws "Mom" and "Dad"?

calling in laws mom and dad

Photo: JWstudio

Getting married is about more than just the two of you. It’s the joining of two families, and that includes your in-laws! You’ve survived meeting them the first time and they’re excited for the two of you to tie the knot, but once you’re officially family, the relationship between you will change. Does that mean you have to start calling them Mom and Dad? Our experts weigh in.

Deciding what to call your in-laws depends, first and foremost, on the type of relationship you have with them. Is it a little more formal? Start with Mr. and Mrs. Their-Last-Name, and let them tell you if they’d prefer to be called John and Susan instead. Even if your fiancé insists that you can call his parents by their first names, it’s better to start off formal and allow the relationship to become more relaxed instead of diving right in with first names. For a more familiar relationship, first names are totally appropriate. Whether you’ve known them since you were kids or just for a few years, this is what most couples are the most comfortable with.

The good thing is, once you’re married, the way you refer to your in-laws doesn’t have to change at all! You’ll probably get to know one another better over the years, but tying the knot doesn’t require that you start calling each other’s parents Mom and Dad. If you’d like to call your in-laws Mom and Dad, make sure to talk it over with them beforehand to make sure everyone is comfortable with the arrangement. The same applies if your in-laws have requested that you call them Mom and Dad — you’re not immediately obligated to call them that, and can instead either ask if you could use their first names or come up with another familiar, intimate way to address them. But of course, by all means, if you all agree, go ahead and call them Mom and Dad!

Kristen Bell Gets Real About Her Marriage and Sex Life with Dax Shepard

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

Photo: Getty Images

Didn’t think it was even possible to love Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard any more than you already did after their epic lip-sync vacation video? Well, prepare to be proven wrong because Kristen Bell just got way real about her relationship with hubby Dax Shepard, and her oh-so-relatable comments have earned a “You said it, girl!” from us.

Having one of the most solid marriages in Hollywood sure doesn’t come easy and Shepard and Bell have definitely put some major work into maintaining their love. (Stars — they’re just like us, right?) In fact, Bell recently admitted to Redbook that the beginning of her and Shepard’s romantic relationship was full of fights and dramatic bickering. “We fought a lot and I loved a dramatic exit,” Bell divulged. “If I could slam a door, I felt so powerful. If I could get in my car and screech away, it was even better.” But her future hubby refused to let Bell get off — or be rid of him — that easily. “[Shepard] said to me, ‘If we have an issue, you can’t leave. We’re going to talk or I’m not going to do this with you,'” Bell explained. “I loved him so much that I was like, ‘I better get my act together.'” And the rest, as they say, is history!

Now with almost of three years of marriage under their belts and two little girls to take care of, ever wonder how Bell and Shepard keep things, uh, happening in the bedroom? Yup, Bell went there! “We’re pretty decent about staying on top of it,” the actress shared. “We’ll be like, ‘Okay, it’s been how many days?’ We find a night when nobody is coming over and we don’t have to work super-early in the morning, and then we slot it in.” Hey, sometimes the only way to make sure sex happens is to schedule it in right after Game of Thrones!

Speaking of the popular HBO series, turns out it never fails to bring this nearly perfect pair together. They even attended the premiere party of the latest season — in matching shirts and (temporary) tattoos, naturally! “He would rather I sleep with another man [than watch Game of Thrones without him], I swear to God!” Bell hilariously said.

Guess it’s the couple that watches Game of Thrones who stays together!

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum Celebrated Their Wedding Anniversary with New Aww-Worthy Photos

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Anniversary

Photo: Getty Images

Seven years later and Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum are still our #CoupleGoals and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. With almost a decade of wedded bliss under their belts, these two are still smitten — and that’s putting it lightly! How can anyone not be obsessed with the Tatums?! They gush over each other every chance they get, are raising an adorable little one together, and, not to mention, they look damn good together, too! The latest development in the Channing/Jenna saga that has us swooning? The just too-darn-adorable photos the couple posted to social media to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary. Can y’all just quit it with the cuteness, already?

Countless couples take to social media to publicly declare their love for their significant other on their anniversary and celebs are no exception. Just yesterday Carrie Underwood celebrated half a dozen years with her sweetheart, captioning an Instagram snapshot, “Six years ago today, I said ‘I do,’ to this handsome fella. I meant it then and I mean it now.” And two weeks ago, Keith Urban also commemorated his and Nicole Kidman’s 10-year milestone by posting their first ever photo together. (They’ve made some major wardrobe upgrades together since then!) But everyone can just step aside because the Tatums’ anniversary photos totally just stole the show!

Jenna Dewan Tatum told her hunky hubby Happy Anniversary through two photo booth strips of sweet snapshots she just posted to the ‘Gram. “7 years,” she captioned the photos that feature the perfect pair making silly faces, smooching, and smiling. If that wasn’t cute enough, she even drew little hearts on the post — and effectively made ours soar!

Meanwhile, Tatum also took to social media to show off his enviable marriage. He posted a pic of his bride of seven years silhouetted in the early morning light. “This woman, 11 years together, 7 married, Happy anniversary Cake,” Tatum captioned the artsy snapshot. (‘Cake’ is Tatum’s too-cute nickname for his wife, for the uninformed!) “Thank you baby I love you,” he wrote. “Plus you look daaaaaaaaanmm!!!” Jenna, you lucky, lucky girl…

Seven years later and still cruising in that honeymoon phrase? See? We told ya — serious #CoupleGoals…

8 Things You Should NEVER Say to Your Partner While Wedding Planning

arguments during wedding planning

Photo: Getty Images

Wedding planning is stressful, and it can make an otherwise rational and kind guy or gal say something they’ll regret on the road to the big day. With that in mind, here are eight things you should never say to your significant other, from experts who’ve seen these otherwise innocuous phrases go terribly awry.

1. “You always …”
According to Amy Nichols, owner of Amy Nichols Special Events and co-founder of The Poppy Group,, this is a bad way to start any sentence during the wedding planning process. “This comment starts with blaming word,” she says. “It makes assumptions about what the other person wants or might want. Listening before assuming what your future spouse might want is essential. Consider that your fiance may have a thought that surprises you.”

2. “Your parents are driving me crazy.”
You feel like can tell your partner everything. “But speaking negatively about his or her parents and family is a big no-no,” warns Jaclyn Fisher, owner of Philadelphia-based Two Little Birds Planning. “Even if your love is complaining about his folks, don’t join in and criticize his family. This can lead to a quick fight with your fianc?? since we instinctively feel defensive of our own family. If family is a topic of discussion, it’s important to be respectful.”

3. “I don’t care what you think about …”
You swoon for peonies, but for some reason, your partner can’t stand them. That’s A-OK, Nichols says. “But what’s not OK is to dismiss the other person’s opinion,” she says, with a comment that tells your partner you could care less. Instead, “listen, compromise, and make a mutual decision,” she suggests.

4. “You’re overreacting. Relax.”
Just because your partner is overreacting doesn’t mean you can or should call him or her out on it. “Telling him or her to relax will actually have the opposite effect, because it is diminishing the way he or she feels,” Fisher explains. “Instead, you should acknowledge and respect his or her feelings, then work together to come up with a solution to the problem.”

See More: How to Deal with Wedding Planning Stress

5. “No, you’re not having that.”
Perhaps you have your heart set on designer shoes for the big day, but your partner can’t justify the expense on your budget, so he gives you a hard-no. “This absolute-no mindset in wedding planning can be detrimental to your relationship as well as the success of the wedding planning process,” warns Nichols. “Try to come up with ways that both partners are able to receive what they’d like for the wedding day.”

6. “My ex …”
In the same way you really shouldn’t invite your ex to the wedding (except for special circumstances), you shouldn’t really mention his or her name while you’re planning your wedding with your current love. “Bringing up your ex during wedding planning is a sure-fire way to upset your partner,” says Fisher. “It shows that you’re still thinking about him or her, instead of focusing on the future.”

7. “You decide.”
According to Nichols, “Apathy in wedding planning always leads to disagreement,” and that’s especially true if you say the words “you decide” following a big-day disagreement. After all, when you really want someone’s opinion, this is the last thing you want to hear. “Change your mindset to ‘we decide,’ and keep talking it through until you can come to some kind of resolution,” suggests Nichols.

8. “Why are you so emotional?”
“Wedding planning is a really emotional time,” says Fisher. And asking your partner why he or she is feeling all the feelings, she says, “is only going to make it worse and will probably lead to an easily avoidable argument. Start by offering comfort, then a sensitive approach to find out what’s truly wrong.”
