It turns out we can learn more from Ina Garten than rich, home-cooked recipes — she’s actually quite the relationship expert. Not in the traditional sense of course, but having been married to her longtime love for almost 50 years, it’s clear to see this chef knows a thing or two about love and marriage. And unlike some of the other Food Network hosts, Garten is constantly doting on her hubby Jeffrey and bringing him onto set during Barefoot Contessa, and whipping up his favorite comfort foods after he’s had a long day at work. The way to a man’s heart really is through his stomach!

Jokes aside, Garten’s tenth cookbook, Cooking for Jeffrey, was dedicated entirely to her husband (and is set to be released in October, if you’re interested). But what’s even cuter than the fact that she wrote a whole cookbook for him is the melt-worthy responses she gave in Vanity Fair‘s Proust Questionnaire. According to People, “Of the 25 questions, seven mention him directly and it’s safe to assume at least four more reference their life together.”
D’awwww!

Of these responses she said that her perfect happiness involves, “Sundays in Paris with Jeffrey. We go to the Sunday market, make a nice lunch, drink a big bottle of Burgundy, and then take a long delicious nap. Heaven.” And if she had to choose a way to die? “I don’t care as long as Jeffrey and I go together and we end up in a big suite with a view of the ocean.”
By far though, the sweetest thing Garten revealed was what her biggest regret in life was. No, it wasn’t anything food or fame related. It was: “Not marrying Jeffrey sooner.” Aaaaand our hearts just exploded.
Moral to the story? In a Brangelina world, be an Ina Garten.
