A two week honeymoon in paradise? Heaven. Packing for it? Not so much. Worry not! Regardless of whether you’re headed for tropical beaches, European adventures or continent-crossing cruises, packing for 14 days can be a doozy, but it doesn’t have to be. Check out our 6 tried and true honeymoon packing tips for a 2 week excursion. You can thank us for the extra souvenir room later.

Roll It!
It’s a packing secret that efficient travelers swear by. Rethink your traditional folding methods and opt to roll your items instead. Rolling helps avoid wrinkles and creases, and also allows for a more compact fit. By ditching folding, you can also have a more organized feel to your luggage, and see everything at-a-glance, versus digging through for what you need and messing up your folds.

Wear Your Bulk
You’ll want to bring sneakers, a comfy hoodie, a hat, sunglasses and more, but all of these items are a pain to pack, and take up tons of space. Before you opt to leave them behind, wear them instead! By wearing these items for on the plane, you eliminate overcrowding and are cozy and stylish while in-flight, too!

Do Your Research
Look into your hotel and resort options as many offer laundry and dry cleaning services. If not, inquire about local laundry options to know if you will have the option of laundering your clothes while away. Reassurance that you’ll be able to re-wear your favorite items regardless of sweat, spills or stains can help you to feel less obligated to overstuff those bags.

Prepare Before You Pack
“When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Remember this rings true even when it comes to packing your suitcase. Carefully review your itinerary and get a rough count of how many formal dinner, workout, beach, and casual daytime outfits you will need. Then, select the pieces that are neutral for the most occasions — think black sweaters for cool nights, nude pumps to match every outfit, etc. The more you can do with less, the better off you’ll be.

Prioritize
Once you’ve determined what you want to pack, make a list and numerically rank each item in order of importance and need. As you pack, cross off the items. As you get towards the end, if everything fits, you’re a packing superstar. If not, if you’ve properly prioritized you should be able to leave these items behind without guilt or worry. FYI: Since this is your honeymoon and all, the less you wear to bed, the less you need to pack!

Condense Halfway
Especially for those with a few destinations on their honeymoon journeys, halfway through the trip assess what is dirty, what you probably won’t end up wearing (it will happen!), and what you are still waiting to wear. Take your two suitcases (yours and your new SPOUSE’s!) and designate one to be the “dirty” one, and one to be the “clean.” Doing this will essentially narrow down your luggage to only one suitcase to sort through as you travel and the other as literally — wait for it — excess baggage.
