TBT: Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's Italian Wedding Day Photos

Happy 3rd Anniversary John Legend and Chrissy Teigen! The adorable new parents celebrated 3 years of wedded (and social media) bliss this week and we’re so excited to finally get a chance to look back on this couple’s big day. Lucky for us they haven’t been shy about sharing sweet snaps on their Instagram feeds!

The Proposal

The couple met in 2007 on the set of Legend’s music video “Stereo.” After a long courtship — and a lot of playing it cool on Teigen’s end — Legend finally popped the question to on Christmas 2011 in the Maldives. The singer went all out for the fairytale proposal on the beach. “There was no big grand speech or anything, it was just very lovely and sweet,” the model shared on her talk show FABLife.

The fabulous cushion-cut diamond engagement ring (set between not one but two eternity bands) almost ruined Legend’s proposal. TSA almost spoiled the singer’s surprise as they headed through security. “It was in my carry-on bag going through the airport security, and security wanted to look through my bag and they wanted to look in that particular box,” Legend told Oprah. Thankfully TSA let him pass and Teigen got the surprise of a lifetime.

The Wedding Day

The rocking couple took a page from George Clooney’s book and set their sights on a Lake Como, Italy wedding at Villa Pizzo (planned by event designer Lisa Vorce). The couple reportedly fell in love while on vacation in the area, so it felt like a natural fit for their nuptials.

After the “I dos” Legend and Teigen made their way back up the aisle while being showered by cream-colored rose petals. The Lisa Vorce-designed event took place at Villa Pizzo in the Lake Como region.

At the reception guests, including a Kim Kardashian-less Kanye West, feasted on a four-tiered carrot cake layered with cream cheese frosting. We would expect nothing less from major foodie Teigen. Of course this is John Legend we’re talking about so naturally the crooner serenaded his new bride with his hit song “All of Me.” Stevie Wonder also took the stage for a live rendition of “Ribbons in the Sky,” and guests got on the dance floor with songs spun by famed-DJ Biz Markie.

The Dresses

As any supermodel is want to do, Teigen went all out when it came to the wedding dress — or should we say, wedding dresses! The Victoria’s Secret stunner chose not one but THREE Vera Wang creations for her big day. For the ceremony Teigen clad herself in a dress made for a princess — a daring princess of course! The ivory strapless open back tulle skirted ball gown highlighted Teigen’s killer body and made her look straight out of a real-life fairytale. Next she switched things up to a mermaid gown with a micro pleated bodice and sheared organza full skirt for the reception. It was another mermaid gown to keep the after party going all night, except this one was in a gorgeous shade of crimson. Talk about lady in red!

Teigen’s bridesmaids, including fellow model Brooklyn Decker, were clad in blush Amsale gowns.

Teigen and Legend have been giving us major #MarriageGoals ever since and we seriously can’t get enough of them. Especially now that they’re family is even cuter with the addition of daughter Luna! Keep the sweet Instas and Snaps coming guys!

How to Get the Most Out of Your Airline Miles

Airline Mile Tips

Photo: Getty Images

It sometimes seems impossible to acquire enough airline miles to actually get a reward flight, but rest assured that it’s much easier than it seems. While certain airlines have more reasonable programs than others, scoring a free flight comes down to a few key tips that will maximize your chances with whichever airline you patronize with most frequently. Strategy is required in the world of airline miles programs and it should be approached as if it were a game.

Here are some extra measures to boost your airline miles and take advantage of a few free flights.

Get the right credit card and book a trip for two
There’s no point in having a credit card that is not a part of a points program. Many cards, not only airline specific cards, offer points for airline miles. All airfare should be booked with one of these cards because tickets tend to be a high-price item (and, in turn, provide more points). If you really want to make the purchase worthwhile, offer to charge your travel companions’ tickets as well and have them repay you by Venmo.

Be aware of extra point opportunities
Many credit cards will offer double, triple or other bonus points for certain types of purchases or during specified promotional periods. Meals in restaurants, for example, are a common charge that earn at least two times the points for every dollar used, and if you have the right card, this translates directly into airline miles. Some companies participate in survey programs where points can be earned by filling out occasional questionnaires by email.

Car rentals and hotels
Many airlines have a partnership with a car rental agency or hotel chain, so being aware of your preferred airline’s partners can also make the miles add up. There are occasional bonus miles awarded when booking a car rental or hotel at the same time as a flight, which is a way to ensure that your miles are accumulating. Joining partner mailing lists can also offer a heads up when companies are in a promotional period that may benefit upcoming travels.

Be loyal to one airline
Looking for the cheapest flight makes sense, but this could mean always taking a different airline, which isn’t very effective if you’re trying to earn enough points to actually get a free flight. Sometimes the difference is only a few dollars between the cheapest flight and a flight on an airline where you’re actually getting somewhere with your air miles.

Use air miles only during a sale
The best way to make your air miles worth the effort is to use them strategically to book flights during the time of sales. When flights are cheap or on sale, you earn fewer points towards free flights, but flights can also be booked using a lower amount of your hard-earned points during sale time. Use the points to purchase sale tickets that you wouldn’t earn very many points on anyway. Besides, some airline miles expire and you wouldn’t want to lose out!

Fiancé Visa 101: Everything You Need to Know About Obtaining One

couple sitting with vespa

Photo: Getty Images

People from all over the world are meeting and falling in love thanks to Internet dating websites and social media. There are reality television shows that feature the struggle those couples go through to come together in the United States and actually get married. What they don’t show you a whole lot of, though, is the actual process of obtaining a fiancé visa to bring your beloved into the country legally.

Where to Start
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services provides a fairly extensive how-to on their website, along with FAQs and all of the forms you could ever need to complete the process. While it seems difficult on its face, if you follow the instructions to the letter and don’t put off getting any of the paperwork you need to submit, it’s not that painful. There’s a step-by-step guide online. If you’re not organized enough to handle it all yourself, there are a whole bunch of professional services (mostly immigration law specialists) who can take care of it for you for a flat rate.

Who’s Eligible?
To be eligible to apply, you only have to show that you are a U.S. citizen, you and your fiancé are both single, and you’ve met in person at least once in the last two years. However, if your religion forbids it or it was literally impossible, they’ll grant a waiver. Once your petition is approved, they do a background check — on both of you — and paperwork is sent to the consulate in the country where your fiancé is a citizen.

The Final Steps
Your fiancé must submit the same sort of paperwork to their local U.S. consulate, as well as proof of the relationship, and have a medical exam by an approved physician. The U.S. consulate actually determines whether or not the fiancé K-1 visa is granted, based on their findings. Then your fiancé must travel to the United States via an approved “entry port,” where they will again undergo even more rigorous screening prior to the entry into the country. Once entry is granted, you have 90 days to marry, and continue on to the green card process. The K-1 visa expires after six months.

Firsthand Advice
Jason Hitch and Cassia Tavares were married on TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé, but Jason said they had to do all the immigration paperwork on their own to bring Cassia from Brazil to Florida. They opted to do the legwork themselves instead of hiring a professional. Jason offers the following advice to future K-1 visa-seeking couples:

“Take baby steps. Read the paperwork. Consult several K-1 couples from similar countries with similar stories. If you are single and your fiancé has no kids, don’t consult a K-1 couple WITH kids. That makes for less possible errors. Be thorough. Have a good presentation when you meet with officials. Make your packet look sharp — don’t be messy. Remember, you’re trying to convince a stranger how much in love you are with your best friend. It should be easy.”

The 6 Romantic Things You MUST Do on your Honeymoon — Regardless of Destination

Romantic Things to Do on Honeymoons

Photo: Getty Images

Traditionally speaking, the term “honeymoon” arises from the concept of the cycles of the moon, and a traditional, aphrodisiac inspired drink called mead (or honey.) With those notions combined, honeymoons began as a time to practice intimacy, seek privacy, and “get to know each other.” That said, in modern interpretations a honeymoon can mean anything from a weekend at a casino, to a three-week European adventure. Yet regardless of where you go, there are a few romantic things you must do.

Let People Know
You don’t have to stroll around flaunting your bling and wearing Mrs. labeled everything (although if you do, do it with pride!) but you’d be remiss to not at least mention it while making your hotel reservation and checking in. Most hotels and resorts have something special for newlyweds — from complimentary cocktails to room upgrades — so don’t be shy and take advantage of this special time in your life.

Limit Social Media
When the temptation hits to check your phone and social media accounts, try to show some restraint. We’re not saying you have to banish away all forms of contact, but try to use it less than you usually would. Save special moments for the two of you, and they will be even more special. (Bonus: By avoiding social media, you’ll return to tons of tagged wedding photos and comments that will extend that special newlywed time even more!)

Pack Sexy Lingerie
Being surrounded by the snow capped Rockies or warm tropical beaches might dictate what you wear during the day, pull out all the stops for a special nighttime ensemble that will work regardless of locale. Every honeymoon needs at least one sexy, special lingerie moment and regardless of style, color or cut — you will both be glad you packed it.

Indulge
While many brides-to-be stick to strict nutritional, fitness or lifestyle regimens in preparation for their big day, be sure to relax and live a little (or a lot) while honeymooning. Think about what indulgence means for you as individuals, and as a couple — and then do it! Whether it’s a few cocktails and a delectable desert, a luxurious spa treatment or two, or just ditching alarms and schedules, be sure to change things up and really let it all go to enjoy yourselves as much as you can.

Catch a Sunrise and Sunset
In your daily routine, sunrises usually mean alarm clocks and sunsets mean the day went by and another is on the way &mdahs; but on vacation, they’re magical. Witnessing both may be a bit exhausting, but be sure to set aside time to share at least one together. Wake up early one morning and watch the sunrise from a special spot. (Be sure to have the coffee ready!) Or, if waking up before dawn sounds just awful to you, opt for the latter and cozy up with some wine as you watch the sun set on an amazing day spent with your new spouse.

Take Tons of Pictures
We all know a picture is worth a thousand words, but we happen to think wedding and honeymoon photos are worth even more. Be sure to snap tons of photos throughout your experience, while maintaining a balance between being present in the moment and enjoying it, and capturing it too. You’ll want to have tangible mementos of this once in a lifetime trip to share for years and generations to come, so shoot away and then create an album or memory book upon your return.

Are Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani for Real Getting Married This Year?

blake shelton and gwen stefani

Photo: Getty Images

Yes, we know that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani marriage rumors have been swirling around for months now. And, yes, we know that every single time these rumors have been wrong, but hear us out. This time, the rumors seem like they could come true (emphasis on the could).

It all started last Friday, when Stefani made an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and was asked when or if she would ever get married again. Instead of just flat out saying no or refusing to answer the question, she sort of stumbled a bit on her answer.

“Everything is going so quickly,” Stefani said in an audio clip obtained by Us Weekly. “I’m in the moment and, um, look at me, you’ve got me tongue-tied.”

You hear that, folks? She’s tongue tied! As if that evidence wasn’t suspicious enough, a source later revealed to Us Weekly that not only is this famous couple thinking of tying the knot, but they could be walking down the aisle as soon as the end of this year. Another source revealed that the pair is looking to keep their nuptials simple.

“Gwen has said they both want something more low-key than their first weddings,” the source revealed to Us Weekly. “It would likely be at Blake’s ranch (in Oklahoma) or in the backyard. Gwen doesn’t really care, she is just in love with Blake and their life together.”

Though no one close to either singer has come out and confirmed these statements, we honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the pair ended up eloping or saying “I do” in a super secret small ceremony on Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch. The pair have been flirting and canoodling all over Hollywood and all over social media ever since they got together in November 2015 after meeting on the set of The Voice. It has been all sunshine and heart emojis for the couple, and any time an insider talks to a member of the press, they’ve usually only had heartwarming things to say about the couple.

“They are both very, very happy,” a third source told Us Weekly. “Blake is having the time of his life with Gwen and feels so comfortable around her.”

This would be the second marriage for Stefani and third marriage for Shelton. Stefani divorced former husband, Gavin Rossdale, last August and Shelton divorced his first wife, Kaynette Williams, in 2006, and his second wife and country super star, Miranda Lambert, last July.

While we wait anxiously for the official proposal announcement to hit the web, we have nothing but time to speculate on what this wedding could look like. Will the theme be a fusion of each of their personalities? If so, what would a punk rock/good ol’ fashion country wedding look like? Will Stefani wear some other color than white to her wedding, and will her dress be as out-of-the-ordinary as her usual red carpet style? Will they be singing a duet at their reception?

One thing is for sure, if they do get married, their wedding will be one of the most unforgettable celebrity weddings of all time.

This Couple Made It Official With a Brunch Wedding and a New Year's Eve Bash — 11 Days Apart!

Mitch Myers was stuck in the friend zone with Kayla Kiser’s for years before he finally got the gumption to ask her on a date. Luckily, it was the only date the pair needed in order to discover what had been there been between them all those years. “We both knew on that first date that this was it for us,” Kayla says, “and we couldn’t believe it took us so long just to go out.” On that first date, the couple went casual at an area pizza joint, so on the eve of their wedding, they returned to relax and soak in what was to come. “Instead of having a rehearsal dinner, we went back to the restaurant to share a pizza,” the bride says. “It was very special, and it took the nerves right off. It really let us focus on each other and have a quiet moment in all the crazy.”

Kayla and Mitch decided to have not one but two wedding celebrations: An intimate mid-December morning ceremony and brunch that bonded them in marriage, followed by a New Year’s Eve reception for 150 guests — with a break for their honeymoon in between. Their unusual schedule allowed the couple to plan and party without stress: “The reception was just a fun get together with all of our friends to celebrate a new year and our new marriage, a nice chance for everyone to go big and get dressed up.”

With Kayla’s sister and brother-in-law at the helm of the planning process — they own GRO Floral & Event Design in Dallas, where the two-part celebration was held — the couple was able to kick back and relax as their two parties came together. See how they pulled it off below, as documented by Shaun Menary Photography.

With two unique parties in store, the couple invited their guests to the celebrations with different paper suites. For their ceremony at Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, 80 guests received a formal ivory and gold invitation complete with elegant calligraphy. “The mansion is a smaller venue, perfect for a more intimate party and looks beautiful in the morning for brunch,” Kayla says.

For their New Year’s Eve reception at the Joule Hotel, the bride and groom chose a fun navy and gold invitation, ideal for the fun party they had in store for 150 friends and family members.

As Kayla was trying on other wedding dresses in the fitting room, her best friend was on the hunt for the gown in the salon’s racks. She found it — an Italian silk trumpet by Anne Barge — and immediately brought it to Kayla to try on. “It was simple and timeless and made me feel beautiful,” says Kayla. “No fuss about it.” To complete her look and give it a little sparkle, the bride wore a beaded belt and a crystal hair pin on the big day.

Mitch kept his look classic, wearing a navy tuxedo, soft gray tie, and a white boutonniere.

Kayla asked her bridesmaids (including her sister-turned-planner!) to wear mismatched dresses in shades of gray. Each woman carried a round bouquet of burgundy and white peonies, dusty miller, and berries except for Kayla, who toted an arrangement of more delicate pinks.

The couple’s dog, Lenny, also made a brief appearance at the morning celebration. Their guests loved seeing the dapper dog, who was dressed in a blue bow tie for the occasion. “Some of our friends even started using the hashtag #lennyfindsadad,” Kayla says.

For their ceremony and brunch, the couple chose the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, a space where the bride had visited often with her family. “We have always gone to the mansion for dinner when we had something really important to recognize and celebrate,” she says. “The mansion seemed fitting for this occasion as well.” Plus, the property provided the intimate atmosphere the couple wanted for the 80 guests who attended that day.

Kayla and Mitch trusted GRO Designs to create every décor aspect, down to the color palette. “A lot of the floral design was a surprise to me, which was the fun part about the ceremony,” Kayla says. “I didn’t choose colors or design — I just trusted them.”

It seems Kayla put her trust in some seriously talented visionaries. The designers created a flower wall ceremony backdrop made of white, pink, green and burgundy blooms, with a cross as the simple centerpiece to an otherwise spectacular space.

Kayla’s father walked her down the aisle, before she and Mitch exchanged traditional Christian vows. “I wanted it to be very intimate and special, just focused on the Lord and our new marriage, which Mitch’s uncle officiated,” Kayla describes.

After the ceremony, the room was quickly changed over so that guests could sit and enjoy brunch with the couple. GRO Designs yet again designed the décor, running pink blooms held in white bud vases down the length of long rectangular tables, the flowers fading in an ombré pattern from fuchsia to just-barely blush.

In lieu of place cards, the couple set out gold ornaments decorated with guests’ names. Ornaments were a theme of the day, with the couple swapping them in for a tradition guest book, too. “Our guests signed with gold and silver pens on gold or white ornaments,” Kayla explains. “I cannot wait to decorate our first Christmas tree together and reread all the thoughtful things people wrote on these ornaments.”

Despite the early hour, the couple still served a traditional strawberry cream cheese wedding cake, decorated with fresh flowers in the couple’s color palette, for dessert.

Kayla and Mitch shared a dance to Leon Bridges’ “Coming Home,” then left the brunch in a shower of pink rose petals.

Fast forward 11 days, and the couple returned from their Turks and Caicos honeymoon to join 150 guests at Dallas’ Joule Hotel for their New Year’s Eve reception. “The hotel is anything but cookie cutter,” explains Kayla. And the couple’s décor — think, gold, silver and black streamers, colored lighting, and a checkered dance floor — only made the space more unique.

Here, Kayla slipped on a glittering Jenny Packman dress, and danced the night away with Mitch and their family and friends. “I didn’t do a lot of bridal things at the party,” she says. “We just had a good time all together.”

That good time was fueled by tasty bites like mini sliders and tacos and unique signature drinks. For dessert, an assortment of sweets pleased every palette.

Kayla, Mitch, and all of their guests made memories in a prop-filled photo booth, complete with requisite New Year’s hats and glasses.

The evening ended with a New Year’s kiss and metallic balloons falling from the ceiling.

Kayla realizes their wedding schedule was unconventional, but she wouldn’t change a thing. “Go with your gut,” she advises other brides. “I would know immediately what I wanted, but would still spend hours researching just to decide that I wanted the first choice. I just needed to trust myself better with these big decisions.”

How to Make a Small Wedding Ceremony Feel Intimate Instead of Empty

make small wedding ceremony feel intimate

Photo: Shane Carpenter of Readyluck

Were you able to keep your guest count to a minimum? Congratulations! You’ve accomplished a wedding feat that many couples only dream of. The challenge? Making your small celebration feel intimate instead of empty. How can you make sure your ceremony is cozy and full of love? Our experts have a few ideas.

Having a smaller wedding offers a lot of flexibility, even with the challenge of making sure it doesn’t feel empty and barren. If you’re getting married in a house of worship that has pews already arranged (and permanently attached to the floor!), encourage guests to sit as close to the altar as possible. Have your ushers escort guests to closer seats, and consider using ribbon to rope off pews that are too far back so the empty space is in the back rows, while the front rows are full of the people you love.

Getting married at a venue where you’re renting chairs and arranging the space on your own? Consider a ceremony in the round. A smaller guest list will let you gather everyone in close, while curved seating will make sure everyone has a fantastic view. If the guest list is really small, you could also opt to have guests stand huddled around the two of you instead of sitting, literally surrounding you with their love and support.

See more: How Can We Make Sure the First Few Rows at the Ceremony are Saved for Family?

You should also consider the size of the space itself. If your ceremony will be outdoors, look for a nook on the property that will fit your guests, but not much more. Of course, you could also go the opposite direction and choose a dramatic, spacious location that will really set you in nature, such as an open field or a mountain top.

Having a hotel or museum wedding? Choose a smaller, cozier room that’s more tailored to your guest count, or look at ballrooms where the hotel can divide the room into smaller sections.

Couple Marks Nearly 60 Years of Marriage with Photo Shoot Straight Out of The Notebook

Notebook Themed Wedding Anniversary

Nicholas Sparks himself couldn’t pen a better love story than that of Clemma and Sterling Elmore of Oklahoma. With a whopping 57 years of marriage under their belts, these two are #MarriageGoals personified. “He said the first time that he laid eyes on me that he said, ‘That’s the girl I’m going to marry,'” remembers Clemma, sending our hearts all aflutter. Basically, the Elmores are The Notebook‘s Allie and Noah IRL. And if you had any doubts, the too-cute couple just celebrated almost six decades of their picture-perfect romance with a photo shoot inspired by 2004’s The Notebook. Prepare for all the tears.

“We never fail to tell each other, probably 10 times a day, ‘I love you,” Clemma shared of her aspirational relationship with ABC News. All those I love you’s started decades before, when the couple wed just four months after meeting when Clemma boldly asked her beau to tie the knot. Listening to a radio broadcast in which a proposal took place, Clemma jokingly asked the same question to Sterling. He said yes and they wed that following Saturday. Now over 57 years later, the two are just as head-over-heels in love as ever and marked the milestone with quite possibly the most perfectly themed shoot ever.

With photographer Stacy Welch-Christ in tow, the couple headed to a meadow to take their Notebook-inspired photos, complete with the film’s vintage truck (the Elemores’ son’s ’54 Chevy), a stack of Noah-esque love letters (penned by Clemma and Sterling themselves), and original ’40s ensembles. “You are my life and my true love,” Clemme wrote to her husband, according to Inside Edition. “You are God’s gift to me and I love you,” Sterling reciprocated to his forever sweetheart. We’re SOBBING.

The resulting dreamy photographs are beyond beautiful, featuring Clemma and Sterling canoodling and adorably embracing seemingly right smack dab in the Nicholas Sparks-imagined world. “I told them they were just to pretend they were movie stars and act like this was a movie and have fun,” photopgraher Stacy Welch-Christ told Buzzfeed. “As soon as they walked out for that first pose, it was the most natural love I have ever photographed.”

Allie and Noah ain’t got nothing on these two.
