Paris definitely did not live up to its nickname of the City of Love this weekend for Kim Kardashian when she was robbed at gunpoint early Monday morning local time. While visiting France for Paris Fashion Week, five men disguised as police officers broke into the reality star’s luxury residence, after handcuffing the concierge. There, she was held at gunpoint and locked in a bathroom where the thieves stole an estimated $10 million worth of jewelry — including her engagement ring.
Thankfully, Kardashian was left uninjured by the incident. A spokeswoman for the star has released a statement saying that Kardashian was reportedly “badly shaken but physically unharmed.” And according to CNN, she has since fled France. While we’re thankful that Kardashian made it out of the super scary situation unscathed (and that’s what’s important here), we’re totally mourning the loss of her epic engagement ring.
Right before the robbery, Kardashian (unknowingly) took one last selfie with her megawatt rock which she posted in a Snapchat video (see below) and we’re drinking in this final look at its fabulousness. Let’s reflect shall we?

Almost three years ago, Kanye West whisked his to-be bride away to the San Francisco AT&T Stadium — which he had completely rented out for the occasion. There, as a live string orchestra played and the giant scoreboard lit up with the words, “PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!,” West dropped to one knee and proposed with 15-carat cushion-cut diamond engagement ring.

To this day, Kardashian’s sparkler is (was…) one of our favorite celebrity engagement rings. And isn’t it obvious why? “The ring is flawless. Not just internally flawless, it’s flawless,” a rep for the ring’s designer, Lorraine Schwartz, told E! News back in the day. “It’s a D-stone, the best diamond there is, type 2A. It’s a perfect cushion-cut diamond.” Sitting on a delicate pavé band (because obviously there’s no such thing as too much bling), the bridal bauble is (again, was…) chic, glam, and — oh, yeah — MASSIVE. Seriously, you could’ve ice -kated on that thing.
R.I.P., you dazzling diamond. We will truly miss you.
