Malia and Sasha Obama are going to walk down the aisle! No, no — not like that. The first daughters are set to serve as bridesmaids for the upcoming wedding of two former staffers of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Michelle’s former chief of staff, Kristen Jarvis, is set to wed the President’s former secret service agent, Shaun West — they met while working at the White House together! The Daily Mail reports that the couple will marry at one of the four ballrooms in the Bellevue Conference Center in Chantilly, Virginia — just 30 minutes from the political epicenter of Washington, D.C.

However, according to a wedding registry website under the names of the engaged couple (except the groom’s last name is misspelled with two e’s to be “Weest”), which shows them registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond, Bloomingales, Target, and Williams-Sonoma, they’re getting married in Brooklyn, New York. BUT that could very well be a red herring to throw the eager paparazzi and media off the scent of this sure-to-be-political-A-lister affair. The couple’s wedding website, which is linked to on their registry page, is only able to be accessed with a private pin number.

In addition to Malia, 18, and Sasha, 15, serving as attendants, Michelle is also supposedly set to make an appearance at the November wedding. Jarvis served as FLOTUS’ right-hand woman for more than seven years, and during that time developed a close relationship with the Obama children, particularly Sasha.
When Jarvis, who first started working for the First Family in 2005 when she joined the now president’s Senate office, announced that she had asked the younger Obama daughter to be one of her attendants, she said: “If you know me, you know my love for this chica right here. I’ve known Sasha since she was three years old, and I couldn’t be more proud of the young woman she has become. She has had to endure more than most will in a lifetime, and she has handled life thus far with such grace and humility.” According to The Daily Mail, Jarvis described Sasha as “one of the sweetest and down-right coolest people” she has ever known. “Sasha and I have had a big sister/little sister relationship since the very beginning and there is nothing I wouldn’t do for this girl — and I know she would do the same for me,” she reportedly wrote on her wedding website (guess the DM must have that pin code!).
TMZ reports that Malia was also asked to be a bridesmaid.
We just can’t wait to see what the first daughters’ bridesmaid dresses look like! Regardless of their frocks, we know these first daughters are going to look just absolutely gorgeous.
