When special education teacher Kinsey French got engaged at school, her students were there to see it all unfold as her future husband knelt on one knee to propose. Naturally, she felt the need to include them in her big day somehow — and so this Kentucky bride asked her students to be in her bridal party. The result? Not a dry eye in the house.

On French’s big day, her six lucky students got a chance to be flower girls and ring bearers while sharing this special moment with their teacher, and the result couldn’t have been cuter (or more heartwarming!). The bride-to-be knew she wanted her students to accompany her on her wedding day which took place on June 3, 2016, according to Glamour.

“They were like family to me,” the first-year special education teacher shared with local news station WLKY. “The were my first class and they’ve been my only class and so I knew I couldn’t have a special day without them.” The bride teaches at the district’s Providence School, designed for children with Down Syndrome. Her students are in a regular classroom for 95 percent of the day, and then they also receive occupational therapy and speech.

On the big day, the girls wore flower crowns and white dresses, and the boys wore tuxes. Her mini bridal squad excitedly walked down the aisle and also got to celebrate at the reception. In photos, it looked like everyone was enjoying themselves — dancing, coloring, eating cake — all the things that guests love to do at weddings — and memories to last for a lifetime for everyone involved.

“It was so exciting, it was really special…just to have them be a part of the day and have them come with us and celebrate with us,” the bride said.
