If you’re wondering what makes a marriage work, we would recommend not asking Ryan Reynolds. The Deadpool star, who has been with Gossip Girl wife Blake Lively for four years (and counting!), hilariously shut a fan down on Twitter when he came to the actor for marriage advice before walking down the aisle himself. Twitter user Dirk van Graver asked the celeb, “@VancityReynolds I’m getting married this Saturday. Perhaps misguidedly, I’m seeking celebrity advice on how to keep happy wife/life. Ideas?”
Reynolds, being the comedian he is (seriously, just take a look at his LOL-worthy tweets about his daughter and TRY not to crack up), responded with a curt, “You’ve come to the right place, Dirk. Celebrities are the gold standard for relationship advice.”
And after news broke about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce, we totally get where he’s coming from. But even so, have you ever SEEN the way Reynolds looks at his smokeshow of a wife? We have a feeling that’s a look that’s made to last.
No marriage is without its hardships though. Lively revealed in June that she has found it pretty difficult to watch his latest flick Deadpool — where he gets majorly intimate with another woman, aaand which just so happened to be showing on pretty much every airplane. “It’s a cruel and unusual form of torture,” she told The Tonight Show. “And then my daughter goes, ‘Dada!’ and she starts hugging and kissing the screen and waving at him, and he’s not waving back. She thinks it’s like FaceTime. And it’s because Daddy’s getting it.”
The Cafeé Society actress recently gave birth to baby number two in late September, and of course (like a complete mom boss) she attended a wedding two days later. We’d say Reynolds’ advice to the man on Twitter should have been, “Find yourself a Blake Lively.” Wouldn’t you agree?!
