If there’s one time to splash out and spring for the expense of flying Business Class, it’s your honeymoon. But Business Class can vary quite a bit by airline and, given the hefty expense, you want to choose wisely to ensure an experience befitting such a special occasion. Lucky for you we’re rounding up the best options for flying Business Class on your honeymoon. (Note: seating configurations can vary by aircraft so consult a site like SeatGuru.com to select the best seat on your plane.)
Etihad
Etihad is widely regarded as one of the better airlines; even their economy class earns praise, though of course Business Class is several notches better. Their long-haul Business Class section is set in a staggered 1-2-1 layout and the middle seats in certain rows are right next to each other, with large armrests on either side closest to the aisle. That means you get a bit more privacy with your seat mate, along with your own lie-flat seat, a personal 15-inch LCD screen, and chauffeured limo service to the airport so you can arrive in style.
Cathay Pacific
Cathay Pacific’s Business Class is also set up in a 1-2-1 configuration where the middle seats are angled toward one another, great for traveling couples who want some face time during the flight. The lie-flat seats are spacious and comfortable, with 81 inches of recline and 21 inches of width. There’s also a large entertainment screen, lounge access, and award-winning cuisine served on board, all of which add up to a one of the best flying experiences available.
Emirates
Emirates’ First Class set the gold standard in indulgent in-flight experiences — that is, until Emirates topped itself with its ultra-private, ultra-luxurious “apartments” and “residence.” Almost as impressive, and a lot cheaper, the airline’s’ Business Class is also a treat. Seats in the center of the cabin are side by side and great for traveling pairs, and the amenities of Emirates will make a honeymoon even more special. Lie-flat seats are available on most aircraft and the amenity kits, in-flight entertainment and upper-deck bar makes the time in the air pass pleasantly. The service is equally impressive on the ground, with chauffeur service and lounge access.
Swiss
Swiss offers its Business Class passengers plenty of perks, like priority check-in, lounge access, and a very generous luggage allowance of two checked bags and two carryons. But its in-flight service is even better. Lie-flat seats in Swiss Business Class are 79 inches long and 20 inches wide, with a built-in power outlet, plenty of storage, and a massage function. There’s award-winning food with a focus on seasonal, regional Swiss cuisine, and of course, delicious Swiss chocolate.
British Airways
Called Club World, British Airways’ Business Class offers lie-flat seats and a unique configuration with window and middle seats facing backwards and aisle seats facing forwards, which means traveling couples can opt for the two seats on the window and essentially sit facing one another while still having a lot of privacy. Seats stretch out for 72 inches, with a memory foam headrest and quilted blanket, and in-seat power. Other perks include noise-cancelling headphones, three-course meals, speciality cocktails, and a wide selection of English teas.
Air New Zealand
While configuration varies by aircraft, Air New Zealand’s Business Premier class seats offer luxurious leather 22-inch wide lie-flat beds, with ottoman footrest, soft memory foam mattress, duvet and two full-size pillows that make it easy to sleep away most of the long flight. There’s premium check-in, lounge access, an amenity kit, and Kiwi cuisine designed by consultant chefs with a focus on New Zealand ingredients and wine.

Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines Business Class boasts the widest seat in the world at a whopping 28 inches wide (and up to 34-inches on some aircraft). The Scottish leather seat transforms into a 78-inch-long bed and there’s in-seat power, plenty of storage space, and an 18-inch screen for in-flight entertainment. In addition to comfort, there’s a focus on exceptional food. Meals are created by an International Culinary Panel of chefs and wines are chosen by master sommeliers who pay special attention to how altitude affects the wine’s taste.
Air France
The Air France Business Class experience starts at the airport with priority check-in and lounge access, and continues with a comfortable, spacious seat and extraordinary service that includes champagne and dishes designed by Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud. Lie-flat seats are 77 inches in length, with a feather pillow and soft duvet, in-seat power and reading light. Passengers also receive noise-cancelling headphones and an amenity kit featuring high-quality Clarins products.
