They say a wedding isn’t complete without a wedding crasher (and one who starred in Wedding Crashers makes it extra special). One Georgetown bride and groom got to experience this firsthand with an extra-special wedding accessory: Bradley Cooper.

The Wedding Crashers star was spotted walking around Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. last week (also known as his alma matter and nearby the actual location of the 2005 blockbuster hit) before attending President Obama’s final concert at the White House. While there, he ran into a couple (of which the groom is a family friend), Nicholas Barnicle, a documentary filmmaker, and Meaghan Carrigan, a creative producer for Tory Burch, who were getting married on campus that day, according to Vanity Fair.

Lucky for them, their actual photographer, Lissa Boggs, was there to capture the moment when Cooper snuck up on them. Post-wedding weekend, she shared a photo on her Instagram with the caption “Here’s a sneak peek from Meg and Nick’s private ceremony this past weekend! Their friend, Bradley Cooper, was visiting Georgetown and made sure to congratulate the newlyweds as they walked around campus.” And even though the newlyweds were friends with Cooper, they had NO idea that he’d come and surprise them on campus.

The couple got married in a private ceremony in the Georgetown Crypt. The bride was wearing a beautiful floral Monique Lhuillier dress, and the groom looked dashing in a simple suit and tie. The actor, 41, was wearing a “Stand Up to Cancer” t-shirt and sunglasses, and he clutched several books under his arm (we’d almost mistake him for a college student).

The groom’s father, famed journalist Mike Barnicle, shared the deets of the surprise celeb wedding crasher situation on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “That was in Georgetown right before the wedding with Bradley Cooper, who caught the bouquet,” when the hosts brought up the photo going viral.

A bouquet catch on a wedding day? You know what that means, Irina Shayk, there may be a proposal in your near future!
