As more couples decide to reaffirm their marriage and vow to vacation, families look for the perfect setting that appeals to all generations. As the gold standard for vow renewal and top five multigenerational travel destination (YouGov, 2016) – it’s impossible not to be surrounded by love at one of “The World’s Most Romantic Islands” (Travel + Leisure, 2015). Hilton Waikoloa Village calls to couples with an “I Do, Take Two” vow renewal experience to express their eternal ever-after with several ceremony options. These ceremony packages include everything from a wedded welcome, adjoining accomodations and authentic Hawaiian activities that are essential to ever-rising multigenerational travel, to the gifts of something old with Old-Hawaii venues; something new with a sanction of re-newal, and something blue with complimentary canal cruises sealed with exclusive service at reception options fit for Hawaiian royalty.

Everything You Need to Know About Booking a Wedding Night Hotel

Photo: Esther Sun Photography
While not as integral to your wedding as the reception venue or caterer, the hotel you choose for your wedding night plays a part in the overall experience of your special day. Of course, a comfortable bed, luxurious amenities, and top-notch service are important, but it’s some of the other details that can actually have a bigger impact on your wedding day before and after the ceremony and reception. Here are a few things you should think about when selecting the perfect place to lay your head after you’ve said “I do.”
Will you get a discount if you reserve multiple rooms for your bridal party and guests?
Many hotels will offer the bride and groom a free night, discount, or upgrade if they fill a certain number of rooms with their guests. If the hotel doesn’t offer, it’s worth asking. If you’re blocking off a lot of rooms or staying at a time when the hotel is less busy the hotel might be willing to sweeten the pot to ensure you book there.
How early can you check in?
If you’re planning to get ready for the wedding at your hotel room, you’ll probably want to check in earlier than the official check-in time (anywhere between 2pm and 5pm depending on the hotel). Make sure to find out if an early check-in is possible or if you’ll need to reserve the room for the night before as well. Even if you aren’t getting ready at the hotel, it can be helpful to check in early to drop of your stuff for the wedding night so you don’t have to deal with it after a long day — and multiple glasses of champagne.
How big is the room and what amenities does it have?
If you’re planning to have your whole entourage get prepped in the bridal suite, make sure you won’t be overcrowded in a tiny room. At the very least, make sure there’s plenty of counter space, multiple electrical outlets, and large mirrors. And if the hotel is older, double check that there’s AC; the more bodies in the room, the hotter it will be.
How close is it to the venue?
No couple wants to be stuck in traffic on their wedding day or spend a bunch of time in the car at the end of a long, exciting day. Consider how far the hotel is to where the ceremony and reception will take place, how bad traffic will likely be at the times you’ll be commuting, and what kind of transport is available in case you don’t want to drive yourself. Consider your budget as well; a closer hotel can save you money by eliminating the need for a limo or other transportation.
Is there room service? How late does it run?
It’s cliche but true: Many couples are so busy during the wedding that they don’t get time to eat until after the festivities are over. It would be an unpleasant surprise to return to the hotel at 11pm dreaming of a cheeseburger and then find out that room service ends at 9pm. Consider the morning after as well. If the idea of breakfast in bed appeals to you, make sure the place you’re staying can deliver.

What time is check-out and can you extend it?
Many brides and grooms rush off to the airport or to a day-after brunch the morning after they say “I do,” but if you’ve got nothing to do but relax, make sure that the hotel’s policies will allow it. Find out what time check-out is and see if hotel policy allows you to stay a little longer.
Is there transport to the airport?
If you have an early-morning flight and your relatives aren’t exactly volunteering to wake up at dawn post-party and drive you to the airport, it’s worth inquiring if the hotel has a shuttle to the airport. Even if it comes at a fee, it’s likely cheaper than a cab — and your guests get to sleep in.
Is there a safe?
Chances are, you’ll receive at least some cash as wedding gifts. Giving it to a relative who can safeguard it or take it directly to the bank is a great idea, but if you need to hang on to it overnight for any reason, make sure your hotel room has a safe so you can keep your cash secure.
Do We Need to Assign Seating for the Rehearsal Dinner?

Photo: Jessica Burke Photography
Why wait for your wedding reception when you can kick off the weekend with a fun-filled rehearsal dinner? These events come in all shapes and sizes, from formal and intimate to a casual get-together for a crowd. Once everyone is there and ready to eat, the question is: Where should they sit? We asked our experts whether you’ll need to create a seating chart for the party before The Party.
Great news! Assigning seating for your rehearsal dinner is definitely not required. Unlike at a wedding, where table assignments are a pretty good idea no matter how casual your celebration (unless you’re having an alternative reception like a cocktail party instead of a seated dinner), you can decide whether or not to assign seats at your rehearsal dinner based on how formal the event will be.
For a dinner with a larger group in a more formal setting — say, a restaurant’s private dining room or a space you’ve bought out completely — table assignments will ensure every guest has a place to sit and will make it easier to share meal selections with your venue if you requested those from guests in advance. The use of place cards is totally up to you, but you’ll definitely want to pick the two best seats in the house for the bride and groom! It can also be a really nice touch with a smaller group that’s seated at one large table to put in the thought of giving each guest a designated seat.
If your rehearsal dinner is more casual, escort cards aren’t required. And if you’re offering a buffet or encouraging people to mingle as they eat instead of dining all at the same time, it will be impossible to assign people to a table, anyway, as you’ll probably have more guests than seats. You may want to reserve a table for older guests or those who won’t be comfortable on their feet for the entire evening, but beyond that, your guests can grab a seat when and where they see fit.
The Most Lovable Thing About You, According To Your Zodiac Sign

Photo: Getty Images
Sometimes we all need a reminder about what’s great about us. If you’re lucky, your best friend, partner or spouse are there with the right words to say, and other times we need to our inner-positive voice that tells us, “You’re awesome! Keep at it.”
However, sometimes you need something outside of yourself to reinforce your sense of self, something that lets us know that our lives make a difference to the world and that we’re appreciated. If your day sucks and it feels like everything is going wrong, you need a mental pick-me-up and may not have the time to schedule a therapy session or a girl’s night out.
We have to do something because we need to feel as if we’re worthy and special. Sometimes the littlest things can help, like participating in social media, online quizzes, and electronic games that make us feel as if we are skilled and lucky. There are times that we need to be reminded of our uniqueness.
One fun way to get a little self-appreciation is with astrology. It’s fun to learn things about ourselves from the zodiac sign we are born under. Sure, not everything but your sign may relate to you, but it’s surprising how much is dead-on.
There are over 80 different branches of astrology that are used today, including Humanistic astrology (the one we primarily use), Karmic/esoteric astrology (which focuses more on the spiritual side), and relationship astrology (which deals with the energy between two people).
When talking about astrology, we’re basically talking about the position of the sun, stars, moon, and planets at the time of someone’s birth, which is said to shape their personality, affect their romantic relationships, and predict their economic fortunes, among other predictions.
There’s a lot that the stars can tell us, but sometimes we just want to be told how special we are and what thing is most lovable about us. Here’s what people really love about you according to your zodiac sign.
Aries (March 21 – April 19)
We love Aries because they’re very caring and loyal to the bone. Once an Aries is on your side, that’s where they’ll stay, even if everyone around them tries to convince them to abandon you. Aries definitely have your back.
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Taurus are super-lovable for their extremely loving nature and the ways they show their love. A Taurus will make sure that you’re comfortable and happy, and if there’s anything you’re struggling with, they’re there to help you with it.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
There are so many things to love about a Gemini, but the one quality that really stands out is how amazingly intelligent they are and how their intelligence makes them fascinating to talk to. They’re also fabulous storytellers at parties. No Gemini has ever been called boring or dull.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
We love how Cancers are so intuitive and sensitive — they know exactly what you need, perhaps even before you do. Because they’re so in touch with their own emotions, they’re more than happy to help you with yours. If you’re sad, angry or happy, they’re a shoulder to cry on, support when you want to tell someone off, and help you celebrate when you’re happy.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Leos are lovable for the way that they’re so generous, not just with fabulous gifts but with themselves as well. When you’re with a Leo, you feel as if you’re with some magical being. It’s pretty amazing how they are bigger than life, so extroverted, and yet you can tell they’re listening intently to everything you say.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
We love Virgos because they know everything and they’re not know-it-alls. They know that the more they learn, the more they have yet to learn. Also, they’re humble about their knowledge which makes them hungry to learn more. They can help you with almost everything, and they’re not going to be all braggy and annoying about it.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Libras are lovable. The end. OK, you want more? Libras treat people with kindness, and they’re very fair and non-judgmental. They like to be around people and people like to be around them. Best all-around zodiac sign? Libra.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
“Scorpios are so half-assed, ” said no one ever. We love Scorpios for their passion for everything they do. They’re intense, but it’s impossible not to admire how intensely focused they get with anything they do.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
We love Sagittarius for their eternal optimism. They have an incredible ability to see the bright side in almost every situation. The sun will come out tomorrow and Sagittarius will be there to help you see its brightness.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
You wouldn’t think that individuals who are so practical and hard-working would be hilarious, but that’s what you get with a Capricorn. Their most lovable trait is their fantastic sense of humor and how they can make you laugh when you need to the most. The thing is, their sense of humor is weird and different than most people’s, which may be why it’s so contagious.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Everyone loves that Aquarians celebrate uniqueness. They’re very unorthodox and they appreciate the unusual in others. You can really be your real self around an Aquarius — no need to pretend to be something you’re not.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
It’s impossible not to love the compassion of a Pisces. They’ll stop on the highway if they see an animal or a person in need. Pisces have such big hearts and are selfless when it comes to others. They’re there for you when you need them, and even if you don’t want to talk, they’ll make sure you’re comfortable so you can quietly chill.

Robbie Amell and Italia Ricci Are Married! See Their Stunning Wedding Photo

Photo: Getty Images
Seemingly in just a Flash, Robbie Amell and Italia Ricci have tied the knot — in a stunning Los Angeles wedding, no less! The Flash actor and Designated Survivor actress are officially wed and we couldn’t be more excited for this too-cute couple!
In front of wedding guests that included Victor Garber, Carlos and Alexa PenaVega, and former Laguna Beach star Talan Torriero, Amell and Ricci said “I do” in a romantic ceremony on Saturday October 15, according to Entertainment Tonight. And although the wedding may come at a surprise for some, the nupitals were a longtime coming for these newlyweds. Amell and Ricci have been dating since 2008 and then became engaged in August of 2014 after six years together. “She said yes!!!… I think. I can’t really be sure,” Amell adorably captioned an Instagram snapshot of the moment he popped the question. “I’m going to marry my best friend.” And now, after eight years together, these two BFFs have many more anniversaries ahead of them!
Seven weeks ago, the couple reportedly celebrated their wedding shower with boxes on boxes of cheesy, delicious pizza. But their recent wedding day seemed far more glitzy and glam — although they still didn’t skimp on the comfort food! “[It’ll be] classic and elegant — I mean, I hope,” Ricci previously shared with Entertainment Tonight ahead of the wedding. “As classy and elegant as you can get when there are burgers or pizza [being served] — or maybe both.”

On the big day, Ricci looked the part of a classic ballroom bride, donning a Rosa Clara ball gown for the occasion. Carrying a bouquet of lush white blooms, Ricci walked down the aisle to her groom — who was looking dapper in a Vera Wang tuxedo, we might add! — and married her longtime love. “About damn time,” the actress captioned an Instagram photo of the big day. “Thank you guys for all of the congrats and warm wishes! I dig being an Amell.” And we have to agree, being an Amell definitely looks like it agrees with her!

BRIDES Chicago: 5 Fun Wedding Weekend Activities Beyond Brunch for Your Guests

Photo: Kristin La Voie Photography
After a night of getting down on the dance floor, a satisfying spread of omelets and pancakes is a logical choice for you and your wedding guests. But that doesn’t mean post-wedding activities have to end with the traditional brunch. Especially if your wedding is on a Friday, additional weekend activities are a fun way to make the weekend more like a vacation for out-of-town guests and a fun way to make the most of all the people you love being in one place. Here are a few of our favorite low-key Chicago group outings.

Sporting Event
Whether it’s a Wrigleyville rooftop, tailgating at Soldier Field or getting hyped for the Bulls starting lineup, Chicago has a lot to offer squads of sports superfans. While this could be the priciest option if you plan to pay for the group, it also may be the liveliest. Check daily deal sites like Groupon or Living Social for rooftop or tailgating package discounts or if snagging actual tickets to the big game isn’t an option, pick a neighborhood sports bar that’s showing it on the big screen and feel like you’re up close to the action while still being able to catch up with your childhood neighbor or college roommates about their favorite part of the wedding.
Lincoln Park Zoo

Ryan Lochte Spills Details on His Upcoming Wedding to Model Kayla Rae Reid

Photo: Getty Images
Like he does through an Olympic-sized swimming pool, Ryan Lochte is moving along the wedding planning process at warp speed! Barely a week after proposing to his sweetheart, model Kayla Rae Reid, Lochte is already talking big day details — and babies! Better get the pool floaties ready…
Lochte proposed to Reid last weekend with a gold medal worthy diamond engagement ring while overlooking the picturesque Malibu Canyon in Los Angeles. “Speechless. Absolutely beautiful. So in love with YOU,” Reid captioned a snapshot of the super sweet moment.
“My family says, ‘Don’t you think it’s a little too soon?'” Lochte previously told USA Today of his nine month relationship with his now-fiancé. “I’m like, ‘Can you put a time on love? Can you?'” Apparently not! And like their whirlwind engagement, the couple is going for the gold in speedy wedding planning, as the groom already seems to have a pretty good idea of how he wants to plan the big day.
“This is not just her wedding, even though everyone always says it’s the woman’s wedding, but it’s mine too and we’re a couple now,” Lochte recently told E! News, explaining how he wants to get involved in the big day details. Brides of the world, try not be too jealous of this ultra-helpful groom! “I wanted to be involved as much as possible. I want to help her pick out the flowers, help pick out the cake…like everything. I want to be right there with her.”

The big day detail this Dancing with the Stars contestant is most excited about? The first dance, of course! And Lochte promised that his DWTS partner, Cheryl Burke, will be playing an important part in it. “She’s going to be choreographing the whole thing,” Lochte said, to which Burke replied, “Well, that’s going to cost you, buddy!” Can’t she just consider it his wedding present?
And despite the fact that the pair haven’t yet said their “I do’s,” Lochte is already adorably thinking ahead to their future family. “Before I even got engaged, I wanted a family of my own,” he said. “I wanted to find the right one first and then have kids with her. Now that I’ve found the right one, that’s something we definitely talk about… We want kids and I mean, I’m ready to be a dad.”
Aww! Just imagine him teaching his little one to swim…
From the Ceremony Site to the Reception Venue: How Far Is Too Far?

Photo: Katch Studios
There are a number of factors that go into choosing your wedding ceremony and reception venues, from the vibe and the view to whether you’re planning to have a religious or secular ceremony. If you’ve decided to have two separate venues instead of having your ceremony and reception on the same property, you’ll also want to take the distance between your venues into consideration. How close do a ceremony and reception venue need to be? Our experts weigh in.
While there is no hard and fast rule about the distance between your ceremony and reception venues, you’ll want to keep convenience and comfort in mind when you’re making your selection. If you’re concerned about parking or don’t want to arrange for a shuttle to bring your guests from the ceremony to the reception, look for locations that are around a 5 minute walk apart. This will allow guests to park just once for the evening (instead of driving from the ceremony once you’ve exchanged vows), will enable you to provide easy-to-follow directions, and won’t be uncomfortable for any guests who might take a little more time to walk. You’ll also be able to more seamlessly transition into cocktail hour, as guests should all arrive around the same time.
See more: How Should We Let Guests Know About Our Shuttle Schedule?
Looking at a short drive? (We’re talking under 15 minutes here.) Be sure to factor drive time into your wedding-day schedule. You should also make sure guests have directions from your ceremony to your reception. Include a note on your ceremony programs with the address of the reception venue, and if you have space, include the directions as well. Otherwise, consider having a second card printed with directions and handed out as guests leave your ceremony venue.
For a drive longer than around 20 minutes, you may want to provide a shuttle service (or very clear directions!) so guests don’t get lost along the way. You could either have everyone picked up at their hotels, or have them drive to your reception venue and park there, then provide shuttle service to and from the ceremony. If it’s going to be a long ride, or involves bumpy or dirt roads, make sure you let your guests know well in advance. This way they can be sure to use the restroom and pack a snack and some water before they’re on the road! Clearly communicate the shuttle pick-up time so no one arrives at your ceremony start time when they should have been ready to go an hour earlier.
