The Wedding Registry Splurges That Are Totally Worth It

Wedding Registry Splurges and Group Gifts

If you’re starting the wedding registry process you know it can be overwhelming — how many sets of flatware do you need? What kind of wine glasses? Should you pick a classic china pattern or something more modern and tailored to your personality, or forgo china altogether? Ah, decisions, decisions!

Here’s an easy rule of thumb to follow: If you’re the kind of couple that would rather get a few larger gifts than a slew of smaller ones, consider the beauty of the group present! Most wedding registries will now allow guests to easily donate any amount they want toward larger gifts, so consider one or two larger gifts and maybe some smaller ones for those people who still want to bring a physical present. Need a little guidance? We’ve picked out some of our favorite splurge-worthy registry items to help you get started!

A Mattress
A mattress is one of those things that no one ever really wants to buy, but when you get one you love you can’t believe it’s taken you as long as it has to replace that dingy one you’ve had since college! Our favorite these days is the Casper — great price point, super comfy, convenient to deliver and set up, and they let you test it for 100 days so you can return it if it’s not what you’re looking for. (King-sized mattress, $950, Casper)

Bicycle Wedding Registry Idea

Bikes
If you’re the kind of couple that likes to go on outdoor adventures together (or even just the occasional ride around the city), think about registering for bicycles. We love Huffy for an excellent price point (and we especially love the retro-inspired beach cruisers!), and for a higher price point, we also love Papillionaire bikes. (“Sommer” bike, starting at $499, Papillionaire)

Nespresso Espresso Machine Wedding Registry Idea

A Super Fancy Espresso Machine
If you and your partner are caffeine snobs — ahem — aficionados, you know how important (but how pricey) a quality espresso machine is. For a lower price point, we love the Nespresso DeLonghi Pro Espresso maker and for something a little more unique and a bit higher price point, this La Pavoni Professional Espresso Machine will definitely add a little oomph to your morning caffeine routine. (“DeLonghi Lattissima Pro” espresso maker, $599.95, Nespresso available at Williams-Sonoma)

We loveee Miele vacuums, and this upright one is both powerful and easy to use — no re-vacuuming needed with this miracle worker! (“Dynamic U1 Twist” vacuum, $449, Miele available at Williams-Sonoma)

A Piece of Art You Love
We’ve already told you how easy it is register for art, so why not get something for your new home that’s an original as opposed to a print/replica? Obviously it’ll be pricier, but if it really speaks to you, you’ll be happy everyday when you see it. You can set up a fund on your registry specifically for that art piece so that many people will be able contribute. Above are a couple of originals we love at different price-points. (“8 Dec” $326, Hélène Delmaire; “Coastal Moon” $280, Brenna Giessen; “Flowers for Ellen” $1,300, Lulie Wallace)

The 5 Rules of Stress-Free Wedding Escort Cards

Once you’ve decided on your wedding guest list, collected R.S.V.P.s, and — the most intimidating part — put together your table assignments, it’s time to let guests know where they’ll be sitting. That’s where escort cards come in.

Unlike place cards, which you leave on each table to let guests know exactly which chair to sit in, escort cards are all placed on a single table (or hand-written on a mirror or printed on a sign, among other creative ideas) and include each guest or couple’s name as well as the table they’ll be heading to for your wedding reception dinner. Sounds easy, right? Well, it can be! There are a few unexpected bumps you may find along the way that can make the wedding escort card process way harder than it needs to be, so we turned to Rachelle Schwartz, co-owner of Wiley Valentine, for some straight-from-the-stationer tips.

Quantity is Key
While you would need a place card for every one of your guests, escort cards are typically per couple or per family. “Plan on the number of cards being approximately half your total guest count, plus a few extras for guests that were invited solo,” says Schwartz. “If you’re having a calligrapher write the names and table numbers on each card, check with them to see how many extras they require [to cover smudged cards or spelling errors] — typically 10-15% of your total.” An easy way to get your total number of cards needed is to create a spreadsheet of each couple (instead of each individual guest) with their names in one column and the table number in another, then count from there. You should also have some blank cards on-hand once the calligraphy is done to allow for any last-minute changes, such as a guest whose date can no longer attend or a change in table number.

Keep it Legible
“When you’re choosing a font or calligraphy style, make sure the writing on the escort cards is legible,” Schwartz advises. “You don’t want to end up with everyone crowded around the table, trying to find their name written in tiny, overly-decorative script!” She also advises choosing a card design where the names are easily viewable, so guests can swing by the table and grab their card.

Alphabetize by Last Name
While you might be inclined to group your escort cards by table assignment instead of name, this can actually make things a little harder. Provide your calligrapher with a list of names and tables sorted by last name so your cards come back in as close to alphabetical order as possible. This will make it much easier to arrange the cards on your wedding day! “I also advise having larger seating charts organized by last name, as well,” says Schwartz. “If you have over 50 guests, it will be much easier for them to find their table if they can spot their name alphabetically instead of trying to read who is seated at each table.” However, for a smaller group (where you’ll have many fewer tables to deal with), putting together a seating chart sorted by table, with the list of names at each table in alphabetical order, can work great.

Go Digital
Whether you’re short on time or money, digital calligraphy (i.e. having the cards printed instead of hand-written) is a great alternative. “Check with your stationer to see if they offer this option, and if they can help you design something that coordinates with your invitation suite,” Schwartz suggests. If you’re hoping for something more involved, like letterpress or thermography instead of just flat printing, you may need to make this decision earlier on in the process so you can allow enough time for printing and cutting.

Cut Down on Clutter
“Sometimes venues require place cards in addition to escort cards so they know what each guest has selected as their meal,” says Schwartz. “You could have a second card, in the same design as the escort card, placed at each guest’s seat, but that can turn into a lot of things on the table.” Instead, she recommends having the menus double as place cards, with guests’ names written or printed at the top of the menu, with an icon indicating their meal choice in the corner.

The Best Airlines for Flying Business Class on Your Honeymoon

Best Business Class Airlines

Photo: Getty Images

If there’s one time to splash out and spring for the expense of flying Business Class, it’s your honeymoon. But Business Class can vary quite a bit by airline and, given the hefty expense, you want to choose wisely to ensure an experience befitting such a special occasion. Lucky for you we’re rounding up the best options for flying Business Class on your honeymoon. (Note: seating configurations can vary by aircraft so consult a site like SeatGuru.com to select the best seat on your plane.)

Etihad
Etihad is widely regarded as one of the better airlines; even their economy class earns praise, though of course Business Class is several notches better. Their long-haul Business Class section is set in a staggered 1-2-1 layout and the middle seats in certain rows are right next to each other, with large armrests on either side closest to the aisle. That means you get a bit more privacy with your seat mate, along with your own lie-flat seat, a personal 15-inch LCD screen, and chauffeured limo service to the airport so you can arrive in style.

Cathay Pacific
Cathay Pacific’s Business Class is also set up in a 1-2-1 configuration where the middle seats are angled toward one another, great for traveling couples who want some face time during the flight. The lie-flat seats are spacious and comfortable, with 81 inches of recline and 21 inches of width. There’s also a large entertainment screen, lounge access, and award-winning cuisine served on board, all of which add up to a one of the best flying experiences available.

Emirates
Emirates’ First Class set the gold standard in indulgent in-flight experiences — that is, until Emirates topped itself with its ultra-private, ultra-luxurious “apartments” and “residence.” Almost as impressive, and a lot cheaper, the airline’s’ Business Class is also a treat. Seats in the center of the cabin are side by side and great for traveling pairs, and the amenities of Emirates will make a honeymoon even more special. Lie-flat seats are available on most aircraft and the amenity kits, in-flight entertainment and upper-deck bar makes the time in the air pass pleasantly. The service is equally impressive on the ground, with chauffeur service and lounge access.

Swiss
Swiss offers its Business Class passengers plenty of perks, like priority check-in, lounge access, and a very generous luggage allowance of two checked bags and two carryons. But its in-flight service is even better. Lie-flat seats in Swiss Business Class are 79 inches long and 20 inches wide, with a built-in power outlet, plenty of storage, and a massage function. There’s award-winning food with a focus on seasonal, regional Swiss cuisine, and of course, delicious Swiss chocolate.

British Airways
Called Club World, British Airways’ Business Class offers lie-flat seats and a unique configuration with window and middle seats facing backwards and aisle seats facing forwards, which means traveling couples can opt for the two seats on the window and essentially sit facing one another while still having a lot of privacy. Seats stretch out for 72 inches, with a memory foam headrest and quilted blanket, and in-seat power. Other perks include noise-cancelling headphones, three-course meals, speciality cocktails, and a wide selection of English teas.

Air New Zealand
While configuration varies by aircraft, Air New Zealand’s Business Premier class seats offer luxurious leather 22-inch wide lie-flat beds, with ottoman footrest, soft memory foam mattress, duvet and two full-size pillows that make it easy to sleep away most of the long flight. There’s premium check-in, lounge access, an amenity kit, and Kiwi cuisine designed by consultant chefs with a focus on New Zealand ingredients and wine.

Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines Business Class boasts the widest seat in the world at a whopping 28 inches wide (and up to 34-inches on some aircraft). The Scottish leather seat transforms into a 78-inch-long bed and there’s in-seat power, plenty of storage space, and an 18-inch screen for in-flight entertainment. In addition to comfort, there’s a focus on exceptional food. Meals are created by an International Culinary Panel of chefs and wines are chosen by master sommeliers who pay special attention to how altitude affects the wine’s taste.

Air France
The Air France Business Class experience starts at the airport with priority check-in and lounge access, and continues with a comfortable, spacious seat and extraordinary service that includes champagne and dishes designed by Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud. Lie-flat seats are 77 inches in length, with a feather pillow and soft duvet, in-seat power and reading light. Passengers also receive noise-cancelling headphones and an amenity kit featuring high-quality Clarins products.

Puppies In Wedding Photos Is The Next Big (And Stinkin' Cute!) Bridal Trend

The newest trend in the bridal world that’s making headlines just about everywhere? PUPPIES.IN.WEDDINGS. And we’re not talking about the usual “dog as ring bearer walk down the aisle” gig. Nope, the newest trend that has captured American bride’s hearts is replacing expensive bouquets with adorable — and perfectly adoptable! — pups. The first time we at BRIDES even saw such a thing was when a bride (who actually works for an organization that helps rescue and rehabilitate animals in need) brought some pretty freakin’ cute rescue puppies to her wedding photo shoot. Naturally, the bridesmaids lost their sh*t. Even the groomsmen got in on the fun! But now a new bride, or rather her fiancé, is making headlines.

Radio personality and comedian Jeff Dauler, of the Jeff & Jenn Show on Atlanta’s Star 94.1, took his bride, Callie Riggs, by surprise when he interrupted her wedding photo shoot and brought in nine tail-wagging pups from a local orphanage for her and her ‘maids to snuggle with. The pictures, as you can clearly see, are priceless.

Dauler and Riggs are self-proclaimed dog lovers, so it only seemed fitting to calm everyone’s nerves with a whole bunch of pups before the big walk down the aisle. “Callie and I are huge dog lovers and have rescued three between us,” Dauler said. “I wanted a way to make some of the wedding stress go away for Callie for at least a few minutes. What better way than to snuggle with a puppy!”

The bride even posted a video on her Instagram page of all the girls’ reactions to the pooches’ surprise delivery. Obviously — as there should be in such a situation — there are squeals of delight from every single one of them. And secretly us here in the office, too… no shame! Riggs captioned the Insta saying, “When your amazing fiancé surprises you and your girls with adoptable orphaned rescue puppies! All these little baby nuggets are avail for adoption @bosleys.place! I started to lose it at the end.”

A Gorgeous Irish Castle Was the Backdrop for THEIA Creative Director Don O'Neill's Wedding

Theia Creative Director's Irish Castle Wedding, Couple Portraits Outside

Photo: Sonya Revell

When a couture creative director and floral designer say “I do,” you already know you’re in for some fabulous fashion and gorgeous décor. But when you add in the sweet way THEIA‘s Don O’Neill and Fleur de Pascal’s Pascal Guillermie first met 23 (yes, 23!) years ago, a clear tent set in the ruins of an Irish castle, and over 200 guests from around the world, it becomes a party you definitely don’t want to miss.

Let’s go back to Paris in 1993. There, Don was a costumier for the Baroque Opera “Phaeton,” and Pascal was one of the dancers in the production. “I spotted him on the first day, when we met the choir members and dancers in the auditorium,” remembers Don. Over the course of a few weeks, Pascal made many visits to the costume department to have his costume adjusted as they prepared for the show, while Don worked up the nerve to find out if Pascal might be interested. Finally, after a long week of rehearsals, Pascal convinced Don to join the dancers at a Parisian nightclub, and the magic officially began. Twenty years later, on the beach at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami, the couple was celebrating their anniversary as they soaked up the sun. Just after 10:30 AM, a plane flew over the beach, toting a banner that read “Pascal Je T’aime, Will You Marry Me?”. “Getting Pascal into position was a challenge!” Don remembers, as his now-husband put up a beach umbrella and then headed into the water just minutes before he needed to be directing his gaze skyward.

On June 11, 2016, Don and Pascal headed to Ballyheigue, the village in Ireland where Don grew up, to tie the knot at Ballyheigue Castle, overlooking the bay. “It was the perfect opportunity to have our family and friends finally get to visit my family home and my parents’ bed and breakfast on the cliff,” Don explains. “It was Pascal’s idea to host the wedding at the castle, the perfect, enchanting setting for our celebration.”

We won’t keep you from the stunning views, fantastic style, and incredible design any longer — take a peek at the photos, by Sonya Revell, below!

Don created the grooms’ matching suits, which he calls one of the most difficult design challenges he’s ever faced. “They had to be special, magical, and unlike anything anyone had ever seen,” he says. Both men wore blue-gray Nehru jackets, embroidered with antique silver glass beads and Swarovski crystals. Don’s featured Celtic spirals, intertwined with Irish fuchsia blossoms and the Celtic gryphon from the Book of Kells, while Pascal’s was adorned with seahorses. Beneath their jackets, they wore matching shirts embroidered with fuchsia blossoms, seahorses, and swirls.

“We took an entire year to plan the wedding,” says Pascal. “We had a clear vision of what we wanted the weekend to feel like. The day after our wedding was Don’s 50th birthday and he loves to celebrate his birthday, so I wanted the weekend to be our wedding as well as the best three-day party ever.”

When Pascal and Don arrived at the castle, they released two red heart-shaped balloons — a nod to Don’s beachfront proposal. “We were so surprised to arrive at the castle to our guests cheering and whistling. The reality of our wedding day was suddenly upon us!” Don remembers.

The ceremony took place overlooking Ballyheigue Bay, with rows of white chairs leading to a simple altar made of branches of Irish fuchsia. Pascal walked down the aisle with his mother, while Don walked with his father. “The four of us met at the top of the aisle and formed a line overlooking the bay. It was so emotional, with our guests cheering behind us,” Don describes.

The grooms spent a year customizing their ceremony with their celebrant, sifting through vows and readings to craft a personalized celebration of their 23-year love story. Friends and family joined in for readings and prayers, including poems written by Don’s brother and a story of their relationship told by a close friend.

Don’s sister, Deidre, sang and played guitar throughout he ceremony. She wore THEIA, of course, donning the shimmering Celine gown from the Ballyheigue-themed Spring 2015 bridal runway show.

“I didn’t give our celebrant time to tell Don to kiss me after we’d said our vows,” says Pascal. “I just jumped into his arms and, after 23 years together, kissed the love of my life for the first time as my husband!”

“We did our best to incorporate the natural, stunning beauty of Ballyheigue into our wedding,” says Don. “The details were bespoke, with a clear marquee tent, custom-stained oak floors, banquet-style tables, and wrought iron candelabras forming our rustic, elegant vision.”

Pascal owns a floral atelier in New York, Fleur de Pascal, so he took on the majority of the wedding design himself. He drew his vision for the centerpieces and the table setups, then emailed his designs to their florist, Eleanor Groves of Eleanor’s Flowers. “She recreated everything to perfection!” says Pascal. The sole flower was an Irish fuchsia, which was the favorite bloom of Don’s late mother. “That way she was with us everywhere we went,” Pascal explains.

The menus, printed in both English and French, described an indulgent, locally-inspired meal, from a goat cheese tart to Irish filet of beef with whipped potatoes and red onion jam, shitake mushroom risotto, and Atlantic salmon with asparagus. And of course, with Pascal’s French heritage, the wines and champagne were specially selected and flown in for the occasion!

In honor of Don’s 50th birthday, Pascal made sure there would be 50 guests in THEIA dresses to celebrate. “Their arrival at the castle felt like an award show red carpet!” says Don.

The grooms’ first dance song was “This Love Will Carry,” performed by Frances Black herself! Her daughter, folk singer Aoife Scott, then took to the microphone before The Bentley Boys took to the stage. At midnight, after guests had dined on a trio of chocolate cakes decorated to resemble three iconic THEIA gowns, Don blew out the candles on an oversized pavlova and the birthday celebrations began.

Instead of heading on their honeymoon after their wedding, the newlyweds actually did the reverse! “We knew we would be staying in Ireland with Pascal’s family and friends around the wedding, with bus tours and day trips, so the year before, for our 22nd anniversary, we went to the Four Seasons Bora Bora. The over-water bungalows are heaven!” says Don.

The grooms’ best advice is to take a few minutes to yourselves on your wedding day. “Step back to behold each other, hold hands, and see how lucky you are to be marrying this gorgeous person standing in front of you,” says Don. “The moments we had just the two of us, as the day zoomed past, were so magical.”

We Want to Get Married ASAP! How Close to Our Wedding Date Can We Send Invitations?

Choosing Wedding Date Tips

Photo: Kate Holstein

While a usual engagement is between 12 and 18 months, some couples opt to speed up the process (and you can totally plan a fabulous wedding in a shorter period of time!). That may mean eight or nine months, or — if you’re really too excited to wait — just a few months before you walk down the aisle. If you fall into that latter camp, and would rather have a reception than simply head to City Hall, how close to your wedding date can you send out invitations? Here’s what our experts have to say.

The great news is, if you secure a venue quickly and choose a speedy printing method, you should be able to get invitations out in plenty of time. After all, standard etiquette is to mail invitations within eight to 12 weeks of your wedding day. So if you get engaged at the end of April and want to get married as early as the end of June, you’re still well within the norm for invitation timing.

Planning to get married more quickly than that? Once you have your guest list together, start making phone calls. Let your guests know that a formal printed invitation (or a gorgeous digital one!) is on its way, but that you wanted to give them as much information as possible in advance — namely the date, time, and any travel information they might need. Then, send out your invitations as promptly as possible, and use these to include more creative details like the dress code. And don’t forget to work on your wedding website! You can direct guests toward your URL when you call them in the first place, so they can find the information all in one convenient spot.

If you’re planning to get married in just a few weeks, you’re probably envisioning a smaller affair, whether it’s low-key or formal. A guest list of locals will make securing “Yes” RSVPs much more likely, and you can always plan a reception for other friends and family members later if you’d like.

Adrienne Bailon's Enormous Engagement Ring Is Blinding Us In Her Latest Photo

Adrienne Bailon New Engagement Ring Photo

Thought we were done oohing and aahing over Adrienne Bailon’s engagement ring? Don’t be silly! That sparkler is so darn pretty we’ll still be ogling over it by the time Bailon’s first wedding anniversary rolls around. And we’re counting ourselves lucky because, today, the bride-to-be just gave us another peek at her engagement ring on Instagram. (Not that we were getting sick of her older sparkly snapshots, of course!)

Just two months ago, Bailon was on the receiving end of some serious romance overload when her beau, Grammy-winning Christian musician Israel Houghton popped the question during a trip to — where else? — Paris. “You. Me. Oui,” Bailon captioned an Instagram video of her super sparkler glittering in front of the Eiffel Tower. And that engagement ring — featuring a chic cushion-cut diamond and pavé halo — even outshines the Parisian landmark’s beauty! And — no surprise here — it still does! Bailon’s newest Instagram photo once again shows her sparkler next to the Eiffel Tower — and once again, it ain’t got nothing on this bride’s bling!

In celebration of her 33rd birthday, Bailon took to social media to mark the occasion. And rightfully so! It’s been quite the year for The Real co-host, after all. And in this celebratory snapshot, Bailon is showing off one of the biggest parts of it — literally! Standing on a balcony in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower standing tall in the background, Bailon is oh-so-causally resting her hand on the railing, thus letting her HUGE (and we mean huge) engagement ring take center stage. “Looking into this new year of life with so much gratitude & excitement for the future,” Bailon captioned the pic. “Thank you for all of your beautiful birthday wishes. My heart is so full. Thank you Lord for another year!”

But let’s get back to that ring, shall we? That bridal bauble seems to be even prettier than we remembered with its thin and delicate band and dozens of diamonds. Look at it! Just look at it!

Ever since Houghton proposed during that fantastical French trip, Paris seems to be a reoccurring theme in this couple’s relationship. Recently, the pair celebrated their co-ed wedding shower with Eiffel Tower centerpieces and beautiful blooms in Parisian pink and white hues. Hmmm… Anyone else think that this means a destination wedding is in their future?

You. Me. Oui.

Wedding Dress Styles for Every Venue

Which comes first — the dress or the venue? If you’re the kind of bride who has no idea what she wants her gown to look like, then the venue may be your answer. If you’re dead set on a certain setting for your wedding, that place says something about your taste and style; let it serve as your muse when picking out a dress that flatters your body, personality, and wedding location. From a hotel ballroom to a garden soirée, these styles will best complement your venue.

Garden
This delicate outdoor venue is all breezy romance, much like your dress should be. Look for something light and airy and slightly whimsical — not only does it pair well with the venue in aesthetics, but keeps you cool in the heat. A strapless neckline, gently embroidered bodice, and flowing skirt make this Marchesa gown a fairy-like dream.

Wedding Dress for Museum Wedding

Museum
A museum is typically an alternate choice, so your dress shouldn’t fit the traditional wedding gown mold. Take a cue from the artsy vibes of this venue and opt for a dress with an Art Deco feel, made apparent by the intricate beading on this Jenny Packham gown.

Wedding Dress for Vineyard Wedding

Vineyard
An A-line or trumpet dress with a sweetheart neckline is a romantic choice for an elegant vineyard wedding. Both silhouettes offer a range of styles to best fit your vineyard vibe. This Kenneth Winston confection of English net and embroidered cotton lace would look great trailing down rows of terrain.

Wedding Dress for Church Wedding

Church
This traditional venue calls for a traditional dress — think a classic ballgown like this Rosa Clara number. Simple and chic, lace and a bow bring a bit of femininity to the dress.

Hotel Ballroom Wedding Dress Idea

Hotel Ballroom
Hotel ballrooms are modern and sleek, bringing to mind uplighting and stylish tablescapes. A contemporary dress mirrors such an atmosphere. The cut-outs on this fitted Rivini gown are a subtle nod to such modernity while still maintaining the more traditional elements of a wedding dress.

Barn
Rustic is the name of the game when it comes to a barn wedding, with a dress that should be equally country sweet. Nail the look with allover lace, a light train, and a jewel neckline, seen in this Maggie Sottero confection.

Grand Estate
An estate often has a lavish vibe, just as your dress should. Find a dress with opulent embroidery and beading or a little glitz and glam, like this Dennis Basso for Kleinfeld gown. The extra touch will take your wedding day look to the next level, much like your venue.

Woods or Mountains
Earthy and bohemian, this outdoor setting calls for a simple and carefree wedding look. What more could a free-spirited bride want? With billowing sleeves and a loose skirt, this relaxed Jenny Packham gown fits the bill.

This Is What it Looks Like When Bradley Cooper Crashes Your Wedding

They say a wedding isn’t complete without a wedding crasher (and one who starred in Wedding Crashers makes it extra special). One Georgetown bride and groom got to experience this firsthand with an extra-special wedding accessory: Bradley Cooper.

The Wedding Crashers star was spotted walking around Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. last week (also known as his alma matter and nearby the actual location of the 2005 blockbuster hit) before attending President Obama’s final concert at the White House. While there, he ran into a couple (of which the groom is a family friend), Nicholas Barnicle, a documentary filmmaker, and Meaghan Carrigan, a creative producer for Tory Burch, who were getting married on campus that day, according to Vanity Fair.

Lucky for them, their actual photographer, Lissa Boggs, was there to capture the moment when Cooper snuck up on them. Post-wedding weekend, she shared a photo on her Instagram with the caption “Here’s a sneak peek from Meg and Nick’s private ceremony this past weekend! Their friend, Bradley Cooper, was visiting Georgetown and made sure to congratulate the newlyweds as they walked around campus.” And even though the newlyweds were friends with Cooper, they had NO idea that he’d come and surprise them on campus.

The couple got married in a private ceremony in the Georgetown Crypt. The bride was wearing a beautiful floral Monique Lhuillier dress, and the groom looked dashing in a simple suit and tie. The actor, 41, was wearing a “Stand Up to Cancer” t-shirt and sunglasses, and he clutched several books under his arm (we’d almost mistake him for a college student).

The groom’s father, famed journalist Mike Barnicle, shared the deets of the surprise celeb wedding crasher situation on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “That was in Georgetown right before the wedding with Bradley Cooper, who caught the bouquet,” when the hosts brought up the photo going viral.

A bouquet catch on a wedding day? You know what that means, Irina Shayk, there may be a proposal in your near future!
