Happy 3rd Anniversary John Legend and Chrissy Teigen! The adorable new parents celebrated 3 years of wedded (and social media) bliss this week and we’re so excited to finally get a chance to look back on this couple’s big day. Lucky for us they haven’t been shy about sharing sweet snaps on their Instagram feeds!
The Proposal
The couple met in 2007 on the set of Legend’s music video “Stereo.” After a long courtship — and a lot of playing it cool on Teigen’s end — Legend finally popped the question to on Christmas 2011 in the Maldives. The singer went all out for the fairytale proposal on the beach. “There was no big grand speech or anything, it was just very lovely and sweet,” the model shared on her talk show FABLife.
The fabulous cushion-cut diamond engagement ring (set between not one but two eternity bands) almost ruined Legend’s proposal. TSA almost spoiled the singer’s surprise as they headed through security. “It was in my carry-on bag going through the airport security, and security wanted to look through my bag and they wanted to look in that particular box,” Legend told Oprah. Thankfully TSA let him pass and Teigen got the surprise of a lifetime.
The Wedding Day
The rocking couple took a page from George Clooney’s book and set their sights on a Lake Como, Italy wedding at Villa Pizzo (planned by event designer Lisa Vorce). The couple reportedly fell in love while on vacation in the area, so it felt like a natural fit for their nuptials.
After the “I dos” Legend and Teigen made their way back up the aisle while being showered by cream-colored rose petals. The Lisa Vorce-designed event took place at Villa Pizzo in the Lake Como region.
At the reception guests, including a Kim Kardashian-less Kanye West, feasted on a four-tiered carrot cake layered with cream cheese frosting. We would expect nothing less from major foodie Teigen. Of course this is John Legend we’re talking about so naturally the crooner serenaded his new bride with his hit song “All of Me.” Stevie Wonder also took the stage for a live rendition of “Ribbons in the Sky,” and guests got on the dance floor with songs spun by famed-DJ Biz Markie.

The Dresses
As any supermodel is want to do, Teigen went all out when it came to the wedding dress — or should we say, wedding dresses! The Victoria’s Secret stunner chose not one but THREE Vera Wang creations for her big day. For the ceremony Teigen clad herself in a dress made for a princess — a daring princess of course! The ivory strapless open back tulle skirted ball gown highlighted Teigen’s killer body and made her look straight out of a real-life fairytale. Next she switched things up to a mermaid gown with a micro pleated bodice and sheared organza full skirt for the reception. It was another mermaid gown to keep the after party going all night, except this one was in a gorgeous shade of crimson. Talk about lady in red!

Teigen’s bridesmaids, including fellow model Brooklyn Decker, were clad in blush Amsale gowns.
