We sat down with the designer to get the inside scoop on what inspired her new collection, her favorite thing about weddings, and what she would do over on her own wedding day.
Who are some of the iconic brides that inspire you?
Outside of classic bridal icons like Grace Kelly or those that push fashion boundaries like Bianca Jagger, it’s actually real brides that have always inspired me. For my Bridal Collection I looked to the many past Kendra Scott brides and the future brides to be for inspiration. This collection is for them!
What is your number one advice for brides-to-be when selecting their wedding jewelry? When picking out the jewels for your wedding day, my advice would be to consider all the elements of your wedding, not just your dress or your bridesmaids’ dresses. Choose pieces that can tie in other beautiful elements from your big day, like your flowers or your décor. A custom bracelet from our Color Bar, designed in your palette and framed in delicate crystals, becomes much more than an accessory. It is a token of your wedding day, and a piece you will cherish forever! But above all, remember that you will treasure these pictures from your wedding day forever, so choose the pieces that make you feel like your most beautiful self.
If there’s one thing about your own wedding you could do over what would it be?
Laughably, our first dance. Matt and I set out with the goal of having a perfectly coordinated ballroom routine, but after one private dance session, we decided we’d be better off dancing freestyle. Come to think of it, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Although slightly uncoordinated, it was so very us!

What is your favorite thing about weddings?
My favorite thing about a wedding is the beautiful, candid moments that aren’t part of your schedule. I still remember my favorite moment from our wedding reception, when I caught Matt and my second youngest son having a dance-off around the dining tables. Even though they weren’t on the dance floor, soon every eye was on them! It was such a funny, sweet, unplanned moment, and I often find those to be the most memorable.
What bridal trend would like to see go away?
To me, a wedding is never so much about the latest trends as it is about the couple themselves. If they are an adventurous couple who enjoy being outdoors, a bohemian garden wedding will always be in style. If they are a more classic, vintage loving couple, then art deco accents will be a seasonless reflection of their relationship. Be it trend or tradition, as long as the couple is excited about every element captured in their wedding, nothing else matters.
Who is the bride you thought of when designing this collection?
The idea for this collection came to life when I was a bride myself. I wanted to design a piece that felt more elevated, intricate and special for my wedding day. And that’s when the idea took off, because I knew my customers would be searching for the same thing for their own wedding day. So, by using future KS brides and my own bridal jewelry as inspiration, we decided to create a full bridal collection.

Your own wedding look was gorgeous. How did you choose the jewelry for your big day?
As a jewelry designer, of course I wanted to design my own wedding day jewels. I designed my engagement ring and wedding band, and my husband’s, as well as the earrings I wore for my ceremony and reception. The earrings have an elongated oval shape, as a nod to my brand’s iconic Danielle, with beautiful vintage-inspired elements that made these pieces feel uniquely special. I loved them so much, I actually recreated the design to be a part of our Bridal Collection — the Katrina Earrings.
What’s a great way for brides to show off their personal style?
I might be a little biased, but I believe jewelry is a great place to start! I love thinking of the wedding dress as the canvas to these gorgeous pieces of jewelry. Even if you prefer a timeless, clean wedding dress, you can always play up your personality with a bold necklace, or a stunning pair of earrings. There is a silhouette for every bride’s personality type in this collection, whether she is more understated and classic, or fashion forward and bold.
