Any vacation is a good vacation, right? Right. But when it comes to your honeymoon, take extra care to ensure it’s the best vacation ever. While planning the big trip, there are endless options to consider and decisions to make that will ensure it’s a memorable, romantic trip for you as a couple. Just like all the decisions you make for your wedding to be uniquely yours; you should treat this vacation as such, too. Are you considering an all-inclusive honeymoon, but not sure if it’s right for you? Consider the following four factors to decide!
Budget & Spending Style
Not surprisingly, all-inclusive resort packages are a budgeting bride’s (and groom’s) dream come true. For one flat rate, you might only need to pack enough cash to tip — and that is a beautiful thing. After budgeting carefully for the big day, the added stress of honeymoon expenses can seem a bit overwhelming, so one price that encompasses flight, lodging, and food/drink is a welcome site. Couples with more flexible budgets and free-style spending habits may welcome the idea as well, or may select to spend as they go, making all-inclusive options a bit less desirable for their situations.
Personality
Choosing the all-inclusive option can often boil down to this one factor alone — are you (and your soon-to-be spouse) free-spirited folks who like to fly by the seat of your pants, and seek adventure? Or, do you prefer to lay on the beach ’til the sun goes down with a cocktail in-hand, enjoy easy access to meals and beverages and then wake up to do it all over again? Your vacation goals can give you a clear-cut answer on whether or not your suited for this type of honeymoon style. Those who identify most with the beach-loving, laissez-faire group are sure to love the seamless and stress-free choice of vacation packaging, while the adventure-seeking, on-the-go types are less likely to find this option ideal.
Drinking & Dining Preferences
If you love buffets and aren’t too particular when it comes to the brand of booze, beer, or wine you drink, say hello to an all-inclusive! Typically all-inclusive resorts feature delicious offerings for meals, snacks, and drinks that are best suited for the “typical” diner. Those who have restrictions, picky palates, crave local cuisine and/or are loyal to the top-shelf are perhaps better off opting for hotels where you can dine wherever, whenever, and on whatever you desire.
Length of Stay
For couples that are looking for a quick getaway, all-inclusive resorts are perfect. This vacation plan will enable you to maximize your R&R time by never having to leave the resort, with literally everything you could want or need at your fingertips. If you’re planning on traveling for a week or more, you may find that a-la-carte options better suit your needs. When you have enough time to venture out and explore new restaurants, bars, and activities you’ll want to be able to do so not feeling guilty that you paid for all-inclusive amenities, too.
