Praise be to the Beckhams — 17 years together and still just as fabulous as ever. Forever one of our favorite celebrity couples, these two British powerhouses are marking almost two decades of marriage bliss, having tied the knot on July 4th, 1999. And since then, they’ve dominated the tabloids (and our hearts!) with their super stylish family and long lasting love. So to celebrate the Beckhams’ momentous anniversary, we’re throwing it back to the day they said their “I do’s” — a.k.a. the poshest wedding of the ’90s! (Pun intended…)

Seventeen years ago today, Posh Spice and the British soccer superstar wed in the Luttrellstown Castle, a staggering estate that sits just outside of Dublin, Ireland. Yes, an honest to goodness castle. You didn’t think a woman with the word ‘Posh’ in her name would have a wedding that was anything but, did you?

On the big day, the bride donned an epic wedding dress that we’re still talking about. (Seriously. It even tops our list of Iconic Celebrity Brides!) Victoria wore a stunning silk Vera Wang pleated ball gown with a 20-foot train and sculpted neckline, and topped off the luxe look with what else but an 18K gold tiara. The groom and the couple’s first child, baby Brooklyn Beckham, matched the bride in all white ensembles, looking like a soccer playing, pop singing version of the royal family.

The tabloid-fodder couple managed to keep their ceremony intimate, with only 29 of their closest friends and family members witnessing their vows, according to Celebrity Bridal Guide. The romantic room was decked out in rose petals and silver birch trees, and when the perfect pair said their “I do’s,” a dove was released and a flag reading V. B. D. — for Victoria, Brooklyn, and David — was raised up above the castle. What? Are you really surprised?

The guest list for the Beckhams’ reception was much longer however, with a reported 230 guests filling the castle, including the bride’s fellow Spice Girls, of course! Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), and Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) were all there to celebrate Posh’s new Mrs. status. The newlyweds sat atop a pair of golden thrones and changed into some daring purple reception garb after sharing their first dance to “It Had To Be You.”

Before bidding farewell to their guests, the Beckhams sliced into a tiered wedding cake with a sword, because of course. Oh, and then there was a fireworks show and balloon release, obviously.

See? Told ya it was the poshest wedding of the ’90s. Happy anniversary to the most fashionable couple we know!
