For most guys celebrating their last hurrah before the big day, they want bachelor parties filled with booze, (most likely) strippers, and NSFW stories. But for one group of guys from Michigan, their bachelor party celebrations took an unexpected turn and ended on a much cuter note: with PUPPIES!
Groom-to-be Mitchel Craddock and his friends took a trip to a cabin in the woods in Michigan for a guys’ weekend of four-wheeling and outdoorsy things when they got an unexpected visitor at the door. “The first morning we were there, we had the front door wide open and we’re cooking bacon and we look over the front door to the cabin we’re staying in, there is a dog sitting there, sweet as can be but would not come inside,” he told WWMT. (Dog owner newsflash: if you’re cooking bacon, a dog is bound to show up!)
The group looked around for signs of an owner — but nothing. So they fed her. “She was very dehydrated, hungry. I mean everything we gave her and out in front of her she gobbled up as fast as she could,” said Craddock.
After the meal, they assumed that she would head back to where she came from. “We figured she is such a sweet dog she’s got to have a home, so she will eventually go somewhere,” the groom explained. But instead, they had a new friend — naming her Annie.
It didn’t end there. “There was one spot in the woods if anything went by there she would leave us and take off barking and going crazy, and she would go to that spot and then she would eventually come back. We connected the dots, we put everything together and we found a giant hole in the ground. So one of my friends went in head first, we found these puppies we started pulling them out,” he shared. Puppy after puppy came out of the deep hole in the ground — a total of seven.
Of course the bachelor party crew named their puppies: Knox, Bear, Daisy, Gunner, Brimmy, Finn, and Rose — and quickly took them for a quick bath and then to the vet.
“Well, we’re washing our puppies, because they had all come out of a hole and they were all dirty, so there was a group of rough men going down to go four-wheeling, but instead they are inside washing puppies,” Craddock said. Not-your-average bachelor party scene, that’s for sure.
Once all the pups were marked as safe and healthy by the vet, they found forever homes for the group. And even though the groom already owned a lab, his bride-to-be insisted they keep one (because clearly, what happens at a bachelor party in the woods in Michigan, does not stay in Michigan).
First rescue puppies as bouquets, then puppies at weddings strapped with Go Pros, and now bachelor party ‘favors?’ We’re liking where this rescue pup trend is headed.
